Yes, but not in the 80s.
Moreover, he doesn't make those noises in the English version.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

i'm too young to remember a thing about the 80s version. i noticed the squeeky feet noises from clips of the 60s show.

the squeeky feet noise were there in the japanese version of the new show....and the GBA game.

In one of her adventures with Naga (Slayers: Great), Lina Inverse was the 'model' for a giant gollum (golem), that also featured cute squeaky walking sounds, that everybody simply adored.

I seriously think that anyone who writes "Astroboy sux" on this messageboard is a bit strange, because- what would you be doing on an Astroboy messageboard if you didn't like Astroboy?

I say to some of my friends "It's so cool that Astroboy is back on TV" and they say "right", as if "so what?" but other people have different opinions and like him.

I don't know how old other people are, but I am 21, and I guess its OK to watch kids shows. (Although some people might think it is a bit strange) I prefer the 80s version though. B)

I went through a period, I guess mostly in my teens or early twenties, when I thought cartoons/anime were for kids. I think I was still a closet Astroboy fan, because I was still watching it. :D

Now I feel like it doesn't matter what age you are, and the whole stigma of cartoons being for kids is stupid. If you enjoy it, then watch it. This is especially true of anime, which is made for all ages in Japan.

I've found it's the same with Lego. The big Lego websites are run by adults. They talk about the "dark ages", when they thought they were too old for Lego so they stopped buying it. Eventually they got interested again because it's just plain fun, but then discovered they couldn't buy any of the Lego sets that were for sale during the "dark ages".

I remember someone on this site talking about cultural references is some 80s episodes he/she couldn't have understood as a kid, for example "the time machine" with references to the original book "the time machine" (I forgot the author).
I guess that even if those episodes are for kids, they obviously can't get the better from them, so they MUST watch them again as adults, so are we ;)
Conclusion, Astro's episodes ARE for adults :D

I think it was H. G. Wells (Welles?). I can never keep it straight between the spellings for H. G. and Orson's last names.

In reference to LEGO, it is one of the few things that I do well. I had to build things that would withstand visits from my neices (5, and not even 1 nephew :cry :) , and I always had to be Robin Hood, who, always spent the whole time in the dungeon. I think I still have a few photos of some of the things I built, if I find them, I will post them.

People joke around with me about Astro Boy. My sister calls him diaper boy. The one person I race with made a comment about my Astro Boy signature gets bigger all the time. Other than that people don't say anything negative about him. My user name on both the RC racing boards I use is Astro Racer. :P :P :D :D
