Look. It would have been a good idea not to flood the forum ;)
If you want a question to be answered you can create a new topic. For that, I think you need to create an account, but it is not difficult, and it is free.

...and at the top of it you'll be able to edit your posts thus such misuse of color, font and size tags can be erased easily.

Yes, we looked at it! 6 times!

No need to have an account for that, a wise use of the "preview" button is worth anything :P

Hey Fafner, where did you get the 1980s Japanese versions of The Snow Leopard, Uran's Twin, The Time Machine, and The Great Meltdown?

I don't remember... Chances are that I got them from Anapan's server
I just had a check, and 2 of them are indeed from there. There are some others so I think there is a good chance they all come from there.

I'm thinking of encoding an episode or two using the Matroska format, which allows multiple audio streams and multiple soft subs. So a single file would contain all the languages and subtitles and still run in Media Player.
Perhaps have a soft sub containing translation notes, like which bits were cut out during translation.

Apart from Japanese, English and French, I know the 80s series was dubbed into German, Italian, and an alternate English version for Canada. (AFAIK Spanish, Swedish and Russian too, and probably many others. I even found an Astroboy picture on a Palastinian web site, before clicking a wrong link and ending up on aljazeera.net  )

It would be a good idea even though the Matroska format is not well supported with Windows yet, but I suppose it will be soon ;) I wish I could lend a hand, but I have a very small experience in editing video/sound, not to mention little time to do this :( At least too little time to do all the work...

I think I can do it (remember my Astroboy music video?), but I'd have to read up on how to implement subtitles.

Have you thought about using bittorrent files instead of ftp?

In fact I had set up a FTP server because there was already one here, I just re-use the idea... But now you say it, bittorrent would be better, especially since I use that medium for my downloads. Just wonder how this idea could elude me <_< Now it's a bit late here, so I will have a look tomorrow.

I'm going to leave my computer on all day tomorrow while I'm in school (college) and try and ftp-download episodes 49 and 50. I *JUST* saw the french versions on tv today... man that was incredible!! :o  :wahah: B) But both episodes were just reeking of snips and cuts and I want to see what I missed. <_<
