Thanks for the post Dr. Frag, but this dealer won't sell to my country, the U.S. <_<
It's a cool tie though. What a shame. :(

Has anyone seen this Jetter Mars fan fic? It's pretty good:

I really like this one where Astro/Jetter gives Tawashi the silent treatment while enjoying a coffee:

Yes Jetter Mars was a robot boy. He was the 70's version of Astro. He was re-designed and his name changed to Jetter Mars(Jetter Marusu), because Tezuka, having lost Mushi Productions due to bankruptcy, took a job at Toei Productions in the late 70's, and not being able to secure the rights to Astro, had to make last minute changes to the main characters, but the story and supporting chracacters are the same as in Astro Boy. By 1980, he had a new company and the full rights to all his creations. I've read all this behind the scenes stuff on the Jetter Mars site and other places.

Here's what the Tezuka site has on Jetter:
http://en-f.tezuka.co.jp/anime/sakuhin/ts/ts016.html

Unfortunately there's no episode list or preview, but I found the begining theme in Italian on this site:

Cool huh? It's the same theme as the Japanese version, just sung in Italian. I love the artwork and colors and you can see he's basically Astro. Recignize the headless robot Dam Dam? Evan the villians are the same. Ohh for all you Rock fans, he's in the show too. Unfortunately, Hamegg is too. Maybe Astro/Jetter kicks his butt this time. ;)

Wow ... sucks how Tezuka lost the rights to his own character for a while.

:wahah: Whoa, finally a Jetter Mars(70's Astro) dvd. I was just thinking today: "When is someone was going to release him on dvd?" I know it's in Italian language only right now, but surely they'll release it in Japan soon, in the original Japanese and in a nice box set of the whole series. If not I'll have to break down and buy this in Italian. It has nice cover art too. Either way, I must have this. He is Astro in the 70's and Mari Shimizu did his voice just like in the 60's and 80's. She posed recently on the Jetter Mars site with a fan at a convention after signing a Jetter Mars collectible of his.

Thank you Lynn, I knew I could count on someone here to post news about him. The Jetter Mars site has info about a possible dvd release in Japan, but it's all in Japanese, and evan the google translations don't make scence.  If I hear any news about a dvd release in the English or Japanese language, I'll post it here.

Thanks also for reviving this thread.
