Now that I think of it... The 2003 farm episode has the legendary tomato-pinning quote... However, grandpa wasn't actually pinned under a tomato! So what?

:astro: says : Watch "Attack of the Killer, grandpa-pinning tomatoes" and its sequels: "Sons of the killer, grandpa-pinning tomatoes" and "Terror of the cousins of the brother in law of the second killer, grandpa pinning tomato on the upper left coerner of the screen in the scene where campers toast marshmallows at 13:45 hours in Tucson, Arizona, with stormy weather, yes the one with a brown spot". They're worth to be seen!

DrFrag wrote:My least favourite episode would have to be "Deep City" from the 2003 series. For a start, it had absolutely nothing to do with Deep City. We saw, what, a photo of it? Then it was about trees going crazy with unconvincing looking roots. I saw an episode of CardCaptors years ago where a tree grew crazy and took over a house and the way the growth was animated looked awesome. The roots in Deep City looked absolutely pathetic in comparison. More like ugly worms. There was also blatant repeating of footage, no mention of what the rest of the city was thinking, and no explanation of why Astro had to destroy the robots cutting down the trees. Why not ask the police or whoever to shut them down? And the bit about Astro reading the tree's mind was ridiculous.
End rant. ;)

While we're adding to this thread, here's what I mean about the tree animations. This one is from Astroboy:

Are they trees or snakes? Weird tentacle things maybe?

And here's a scene from Cardcaptor Sakura:

That's some cool looking tree growth.

I've only seen the 80s series, and of that, I can't say any episodes were really BAD, but the ones I liked the least were:

Uran the Tomboy -- Maybe she's popular in Japan or something, but Uran is NOT so ungodly adorable that she deserves her own theme song (one that really gets shoved in your face in near every Uran-focused episode, it seems).

The Death Balloons and The Liar Robot -- These were actually quite good for the style of stories they were, but I generally tend to not like stories where the hero gets framed for/blamed for something he didn't do.

Well, speaking for myself, I really enjoyed the Uranium episodes, & found her theme particularly cute. Her dancing is reminiscent of Shirly Temple's dancing. :w00t: :p

As for the other two, I have no problem with either. :astro:

are you kidding me! i thought the micro bears where cute ^w^ but while we're on the subject of theis episode...

even the YOUNG tenma sounded old.sorry, thats just WRONG.and also, for the sake of consistency being shoved in my face, where WOULD shadow get a recording of a young tenma playing with micro bear from?!

also, the giant micro bear...What The Heck was up with that? where did THAT fit in the satoryline,or even the point of the story?! yes,i know thousends of teddys need to come from sowhere, but a giant winny the pooh is not my idea of transport!! i'd rather take the bus...and i hate buss'!
and one last thing...in the bedroom scene, why could only Uran feel the gamma waves? yes,i know astro DID see them, and reacted to them later in the episode,by if uran felt them at first, surely astro must-have as well...
sorry,i was REALLY picky here...but remember...
