I forgot to say I love the soundtrack: cheesy disco rythms on the car chase, oh yeah!
I love disco. Yeah, I'm a very weird guy.

Metro (I hope he'll won't get offended if I shorten his name) has just put the Japanese name, and maybe this confounded people here. I'm glad this issue is cleared. So, want to discuss?
I'll start by stating that all these strories are very... Different, you know... This saga was made for an adult audience, and it's thougher and much more cruel than all regular storylines...
NOTE 1: Sparx, if you want the rest of the plot, I'll PM it to you, there's no problem there.
NOTE 2: And, guys, talking about somewhat strange storylines when I first entered there you were discussing about some risqué episode involving Astro and... You know... A... House with many women... Were you just joking or is it an actual episode?(knowing Tezuka's twisted mind I would believe everything)
Astro II (volume 22) has them mourning over ep 193 in which Atom plunged into Mr. Sun. So they build a new Atom, but as Boon, Lamp, Bukku Bukk, & Dr. O are discussing the project BB says "We want you to make him not just like a human, but a human!.
So Afill suggests giving him reproductive parts. The whole thing was rather silly, though. Upon his awakening, rather than going about saving people, he pursued other things. So he is busted by the vice squad and lead away among 5 or 6 naked women.
BTW, I think this story had even more guest stars than any other.

Astro II is one of 2 or 3 stories known to me in which Lamp portrays a good guy. One other is Minya's Star (another version of Ivan the Fool), it was not among those in the English dub, though.
Regarding Chronicles, I think the inclusion of Tenma Hoshie did more to add drama than everything else combined.

Shotaro Ishinomori (author and artist of the manga) was a huge fan of Tezuka, as is evident from the very similar styles. 007, the cyborg you're talking about, was used as a homage to Tezuka. And yes, he was inspired by Lamp.

Wahaha! The fact is Ishinomori's works hasn't arrived to my country yet, but
if they say that he was The King of Manga (while Tezuka was the God), he has to be good (I heard Kamen Riader is gonn be published in Spain. The live action series was aired on TV, but it failed: the Power Rangers were unbeateble at that time.

The reason why the US Masked Rider show failed because the American adaptation sucked. The original japanese Kamen Rider RX is a lot darker than the US version.
Well, there's still hope for Kamen Rider in the US as an American version of Kamen Rider Ryuki is gonna be released and its being made by the Wang brothers who are big fans of Japanese superheroes as well as Hong Kong kung fu films including Master of the Flying Guillotine. Steve Wang is a famous award-winning make-up artist and filmmaker who directed the 2 live action Guyver movies and the awesome low budget Martial Art Actioner "Drive". His brother Michael Wang is an award-winning commercial director who did the Bud light commercial with the guy who spills his Bud Light onto a racy centerfold magazine. As the man tries to lick the last remnants of his Bud Light by lifting the magazine and pouring it into his mouth, his wife and mother-in-law walk in on him in a rather compromising position.

Steve site assured on his Myspace site that he wants to make a "proper" US adaptation of the Kamen Rider franchise with darker storylines and better character development than the Power Rangers.

I knew we had covered this in the past" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=opera&rls=en&hs=Sy3&q=+site:www.astroboy-online.com+cyborg+007+lamp+tezuka, but why are these not in the same familiar blue background format?

Ok I found the thread: Lamp & Cyborg 007, etc.
