Yep, she's a perfect example of retconning, and that's why I consider the whole Astro Boy Tales series as canon.

And that is Michi in the picture (or whatever name she has when playing Astro's robot mom in Astro Boy).

Oh, I had no idea that Tenma was in Metropolis. Serves me for trying to say something without reading the actual thing.

@Alittleacorn: It's from volume twenty, when Tenma goes to rush up the stairs and get Astro. Michi, knowing she can't hurt humans but needs to protect her son, karate-chops the banister, causing enough vibration to send Tenma off the stairs. Plus, yeah...with my comic Cinderelliot (please note this isn't a plug), I had to go in and do massive overhauls of panels and entire pages just to put together everything I ever forgot. I wouldn't be surprised if Tezuka made Hoshie just for something like that.

@Dr. Jerk: She's fifteen. I hope she notices the overwhelming stench of irony.

EDIT: No, Michi the Robot Mom is just Tezuka's older version of Michi the Metropolis Robot. Tenma's not in Metropolis (but I can wish).

You're saying Atom's mother is named Mitchi? I thought she was always just "Mama".

And yes, I know Astronomical Girl is 15... not sure what exactly you mean though. (Yes, I'm very dumb and clueless.)

(No, I just mean the fact that she's implying teenagers can't draw. And she's a teenager. Her remark kinda hit me in the face too, since it takes me a lot of courage just to show people my comic work.)

Michi was just her Star System roster name, like how other characters like Lamp sometimes pop up in Black Jack with a completely different name for his role. For all I know, she's only known as Mama in the Astro Boy canon.

They couldn't be consistent because they had to hire a new artist.

And not everyone can mimic another one's style, at least not perfectly. I like to think that I can easily mimic a lot of people's styles, but they're never perfect.

Please, just enough of this.

I wouldn't say 'emotionally confused', he just thinks very high and mighty of himself, prefers to get his way and otherwise very stubborn about his beliefs and opinions.

where would love come in? do you think that he felt lonesome? and a lack of companionship perhaps or a lack of comfort that seemed to suggest a lack of emotional support from his childhood?
