Now back to the original question...well, as it seems that when she finally found out Cora had already taken a liking to him, but if Astro had told her straight away...well, I'm not exactly sure. The reason as to why there are still humans on the ground isn't made clear, however in the Metropolis film the reason why there are still humans living in sector 1 is because they lost their jobs to robots. And judging by how they think of the robots in the robo-games, probably they don't think highly of robots either. Even Cora herself admits her opinion on the games, I forgot the exact words she used but it was somehting like "dont worry", and well at least she isn't really against it - not much is show about it anyway. She might - just might not welcomed him as much if he directly told her that he was a robot, but on the other hand she seems like a friendly kind of person. Not sure.

Well, remember that ACTUALLY Astro saved Widget and Sludge right away from the pirates, and he was almost "found out" after he accomplished that (remember the pirates knew he was a robot right away (the movie didn't present it that way, but the novel did. I think she might have been flustered by his power, but shaken by his unselfish behavior in saving the twins.
Plus, Astro exudes a gentleness (and let's not forget the eyes) that I believe would tend to slow down Cora's response. The "problem" would be Hamegg, who is cold as ice towards robots. I think Astro would have just left all of them, and looked for another place to live.
