if I were astro, I would shower every day just cuz I can, shine up my body, relax a bit.

According to volume 7 of the manga, Astro is not supposed to take baths/showers. When he tried to, Tenma instead had scolded him and lectured that robots should not take baths as they would rust.

Of course that doesn't stop Astro from going underwater before, but it would seem to indicate that he should not be taking daily washes.

And really, as a robot, he is incapable of 'stinking' unless he were to get messy or to decay.
