Hey all. This is the first Astro pic I've done in a couple of weeks. I was slammed with a bunch of extra work so this is all Ive had time to do really. Its actually just a rough sketch so the mechanical detail isnt as crisp or refined as Id like it to be in some spots but thanks to photoshop its good enough for now

For a 10 year-old, I think his arms are way too muscular.
Also, it just ain't right. Atom's face is round. But this guy seems almost an adult by his shape.
The megaman blaster is on the wrong arm, but that's ok.
Also, note the height of the waistband. Atom's is as close to his arm pits (not that he has any) as it is to his belly button (not that he has one).

Very cool! Not that it is unique to your drawings, but his hands are huge!

Waistband is too low.

Where did this spring of constructive critisizm suddenly come from?
Not that I think I need to be told how to draw Astroboy but if your going to point out inaccuracies dont stop there (Although I thought it was pretty obvious that they were stylized, never intending to be canon accurate).
Dont forget to point out that the angled lines on his joints are innacurate, the color of his belt is wrong, his hair spikes are too narrow, his eyes are too close together and his limbs are too lanky in this pic:

Anyway its easy to pick apart something but unless you can do better your words dont have alot of weight, and its not really fair to single me out when there are other stylized Astro fan pics on these boards that are less accurate than mine. Lets see you post some constructive critisizm about them too ok? And then you can post some of your own work for me to critisize.

I have given criticisms of others' work. I thought I had also included some compliments, but after checking, find only one. I think your work is excellent; however, I am a critical guy, I simply find it comes naturally. The quality (artistic ability) of your work is very high, but your choice of how you depict Atom is what I find worthy of critique.
Do not let my criticisms bother you
I myself know how to draw, but because of physical conditions, must content myself with other means of distraction. Yet, if I drew Atom, my drawing would take an hour, just for the lines, and be of much lower quality than yours.

This is indeed very close to the Atom I know and love. I thought that I did comment upon the joints, but find no such comment. Here it is: your joints are more realistic than the classic joints. They are too simple, but suffice for a kids' show. Why did you depict his joints thus?

Fingers always gave me a royal pain! I wanted to make my drawing exactly like the one I useed as a model. Despite your joints, you have drawn Atom as I know him. The joints remind me of LEGO robot arms.
