StellDream: I have put the images on another server. Check again, it's working now! :D Just click on the small images to get the normal size version! :)

And for everybody, I said it earlier but since many people won't go back a few pages ago to read the edited posts, I'll write it again: since there are so many pics, I followed ImageShack's suggestion to put only thumbnails. But if you want to directly link to the regular size version of a pic, in a reply here or in another thread, feel free to do it, it's not forbidden! :D

What do you use to create your jpegs? I usually use Power DVD to capture the frames, but since it uses the bitmap format, I must create jpegs using an editor (MS photo editor). Most of my jpegs are about 24 KB (for the DVD's default size of 720 x 480). Your full-sized pics are huge, over 150 KB, no wonder your Bandwidth was exceeded. ;)

Good point... I've just checked all my files and almost all of them are around 30 to 70 Kb. But the last 4 episodes I did are 150 Kb to 200 Kb. How did that happen?! I use Power DVD to capture the frames too, then I paste them into Photoshop and save them as jpg. And I did that for every episode, including the last ones I did. I don't recall changing anything. You are right, I probably wouldn't have exceedrd my bandwith otherwise.

Thank you for pointing this out. I have no clue what the problem is though.

You might have some options regarding the quality Vs. the size of the jpeg files created with Photshop. I do not have that program, so, I cannot say for sure. However, even 30 KB is large for a jpeg. esp when you post as many as you have.

Regarding the quality of my jpegs images, I usually target about 50% quality: it usually gives images almost identical to unaltered images, and are usually below 30 Kb.
For the ones who are interested, I have a script that can change the quality of as many images as needed to whatever value: just put the images (thousands if you want) in a directory, call the script, and watch it do the work B) However it won't run under Windows systems, so some uploads/downloads to my server may be needed.

I'm very interested, fafner! :D You'll have to tell me how to call the script, of course! :)

I think I know what happened, I probably hit the wrong key at some point and dragged the quality value setting by mistake without realizing it since I had never paid attention to this setting.

Oh well, I learned something new today!

Just upload the files on my server. Put them in a subdirectory so they don't get mixed with other files, or put them in a compressed file (even if it will probably not compress very much). Send me a message to give me the total size, so I can make sure there is enough room. Right now, there is only 400 Mb, so be sure not to upload more than that until I say you can ;) I just hope there is not so much :D
However you can't run the script yourself. You will have to send me a message as soon as it is ready, I will run the script, then you will redownload everything.

Hey, thanks to fafner's help, no more thumbnails anymore! :wahah: And no more bandwith and server space problems! :D The quality is not quite what it was, but I think it's very satisfying, and I hope it will be for everybody else as well! :)

Now, The Secret of the Mayas!
