But I'm a little bit surprised by Tezuka's choices of names.  Is Tobio a real Japanese first name?  I've never heard of one, same with "Adamu".

I kept thinking "Why doesn't he just do something?" throughout the movie, until I finally understood that he couldn't even fly! 

I noticed the purple boots at first, but didn't notice them anymore after a while... I hadn't realize it might be because they became read! 

I found the film extremely amusing. The acts of Astro aboard the "exploding train" was highly touching. My real video conversion has sync problems, but the story is still there. The antiwesternization of the pacific and the survival of the Mu kingdom. No use going into detail. Like dr. Elefun hinted, Astro talks too much.

I find it amusing too, plus it wasn't predictable, which was great. I also liked the animation special tricks a lot... as well as the "vocal cord adjustment" too!

Well of course. But no need to belabour the obvious antiwestern anti progress diatribe. Dr. Elefun suffering racial persecution under the Swastika, The Maori rebellion, U.S. secretary of state, Skunk, Dr. Elefun's you know what, The deaths are disturbing, the device of the Pentagon Ring to melt the bodies,etc.
The deaths will be disturbing to some.
. And well , some will get lost in the Mu plot.

well, Dr. Elefun did say he was under attack. This seem's to be what was hinted in

Dragon Lake.....

I have no doubt the English name is "Adam", but I don't see the Japanese name "Adamu" written anywhere, so I can't know whether the name was changed for English or not.
