Okay, now that is bizarre. I would think that he would put himself in a much better role, such as the mayor or something.

Tezuka was a humble man, I honestly don't think he would put himself in such a high ranking position.

The Crater was very different though compared to his more friendlier works.

Hmm each to their own but in the Black Jack manga he is a medical doctor including the recent BJ anime and so are alot of other characters like Tenma and Ochanomizu

Well, he did have a good career in that manga, and played a big role in the Vampires manga as well, but one also has to remember that he did not place himself in a big role very often. Also, he was a real doctor of medicine in real life.
