Hint: it is a work of 2 dimensional art in one scene that we have loved and adored.![]()
I think you've got me there. It's not the kite at the end of Uran The Tomboy, is it?
I might have to watch all the episodes again to spot this one. [/b][/quote]
I may be wrong with this, but I think the bird is showing at the beginning of the 'Uran The Tomboy' DVD-episode, that scene where Astro's wearing his Kimono and wishing his parents a good new year. The wall behind Astro is painted with such a bird.
Cybotron's got his signature from that scene. (I love that one, Astro's looking so cuuuute

So I think 'Uran The Tomboy' is a good call, DrFrag. B)

So, you concede defaet. Ha, ha, ha, ha! The pic has Atom wearing a kimono. The Phoenix (I think) is on the wall directly behind him. You cannot miss it if you read Cybotron's posts, although he uses a cropped version:

I belive it is the Phoenix because it has the three pronged tail, but I could be wrong.
Here is what I found under the Astro Pics (page 4) thread, but it too, is cropped.

Here are the covers of the mangas volumes 1 & 3:

I think it is clearly the Pheonix.

For sure.
I had often wondered why Tezuka didn't put a cameo of the Phoenix Bird in the 80s series. The flash intro on Tezuka World (to use the 80s series names) has Hyotantsugi, Astro, Kimba, Daddy Walrus, Spider, Saphira and her horse, Phoenix, and Tezuka.
Looks like Kimba is the only one who doesn't appear in Astroboy.

I have resumed work on my pages, I expect it will be a few months before I buy a domain name and publish them. I really want to become familiar with Asimov's stories before publishing, & I still have other books to finish. Anyway, I will probably give this forum a preview and invite critiques from you.

I am now working on a table that covers the various incarnations of the stories. My greatest weakness is the 60s Americanized episodes, of which there are nearly 100, but I have only seen 36. The one website http://www.astroboy.tv/ gives info that I do not trust entirely. If anyone has 1st hand knowledge of this site's accuracy in these things, please speak up.
