The Dragon Lake restoration

My god you really are stupid cybertron, I've refrained from using insults up till now, but since you said "get a life" the gloves are off.

For a start video can be edited using any damn color space you like.

Secondly there is more than one shade of red in the world, not just pure red, hence my comment "red is red"

Thirdly, just because Astros boots are red does not mean they are meant to be PURE red, do you think the artists out of all of the damn shades of red in the world would choose PURE red for Astros boots?
Why you insist on changing the saturation of the picture so his boots match PURE red is beyond me, it truly makes the picture look terrible, but you are so adamant that Astros boots should be PURE red you just cant see it.

No one has sabotaged anything, there could be a number of factors why the color looks different in the picture than it does on your TV, the monitor, the capture card, the capture software, the encoding software, the editing software, the media player, all of or any of these things could have made the color look different, nobody sabotaged it you paranoid freak.

Now, now, boys. Enough of this squabbling. Take a look at these two pics, both from the same page:

It is quite clear that they are different in terms of either hue or shade, or mayhap even both. Cybotron! Look at Atomu' skin in both pictures. It is clear the the one with the darker boots also has darker skin!

Now as to hue, shade, saturation, & stuff like that:

The RGB scheme boils down to red green & blue (the wavelengths being whatever). These three electron guns (for those who still use CRT monitors) can only be off, and on. When on, they have a continuum of varation between 0 & 100%. If you use an LCD monitor, than those values are likely to vary from 0 to 255, in increments of 1. Regsardless, whether your photo editing software says it has many or few controls with which you may adjust the color, it all boils down to 0-100% of the intensity for each color. My old printer used magenta, cyan, & I do not remember what else, but it still produced the same results as one that used red, green, & blue. So, to put it simply, whatever hue results from the intensities being 25, 25, & 25, is the same hue that results from 50, 50, 50, except that its shade (luminance) is darker.

Cybtron, go to your room! Your obsession with getting the color just right is unhealthy. Your insistance upon perfection reminds me of the late Phil Hartman's anal retentive chef sketch. Your snake looks like it is made from laser light, it glows just like Rudolf's nose!

The Serpent and Girl must be scarlet and purple.... not rusty brown and grey.

This Red Serpent is the tradtional banner of the cosmic enemy, the Red Devil and his cultus. Called by the Ancients the "Hater of all good."
As far as "Sabotage" is concerned... Cartoonland is saturated color and psychedelic artwork. Someone had to lower the picture and color levels, and when Astro came on in the middle of Toonami, the most saturated and color rich anime programming on earth, it looked washed out and weak. Anyone could see the difference. The other cartoons were crystal clear, rich, hot... Astro was pale, washed out pastels. But the promo ads that were shown for Astro were full color and screaming saturated. This finished Astro, it had no eye candy value. The red had been removed. The color reduced by someone who wanted the anime to fail with that audience. So it is not my monitor, not my eyes, it was scientifically arrived at by comparison. Astro alongside Teen Titans etc.
We patrol these sectors. We are the traditional enemy of the great red serpent.

The above picture is from the unrestored Astro episode. The brain registers this as bland unexciting, dull and lifeless. The mind of the cartoon addict turns it off. Ignores.

Therefore The cyber op was to simply adjust the color until the serpent was red and the girl was purple. :wahah:

Well, while we're enjoying "Dragon Lake" I thought a little background into the mythos of the Red Serpent or Red Dragon would be in order.




It should be obvious to any student of the subject where the artists and writers of Astroboy "Dragon Lake" drew their concept. Artistry at this level of conceptualization is incoherent to the noncreative mind. They can get nothing out of it. But the educated or creative mind can plainly accept the connection. And recieve the intended message.
What's going on here? Why "The Crown of Solomon" why " Dragon Lake" why subject yourself to ridicule by attempting to talk about the meaning and concepts in these anime.
