Good point indeed, which also reminds me of something else.

Why would Skunk want to hit Astro on the head? His electronic brain is in his chest, and we all know Astro can still work without his head! :P Even robots don't seem to realize it as I recall Astro himself punching Atlas on the head and other robots aiming at Astro's head (Zeus maybe?). Looks like mayor Ballast has superior intelligence! ;)

Also, it's funny to watch Astro out of breath after a fight. I guess he has a fan somewhere inside to cool off. ;) But how can he and his dad snore....?

That is easy to explain: The GIF where Astro puts his boots on was taken from ep. 2 'Robot Circus', while the other both were taken from ep. 4 'Astro's First Love'. It wasn't until ep. 4 Astro got his own legs replaced by Nikki's with toes including.
In 'Robot Circus' he still wore his own hoof-like legs created by Dr. Tenma/Boynton.
However you are right about the missing red color of his shoe thingies. :)

And to think all it took was the sandy ocean floor in Lilly On Pelligro Island to dent Astro's head in. [/quote]
I always believed that the dent in his head was a result from the sea serpent's hit against him.
I must have a closer look at this. ;)

Dr. Boynton's original design included toes. This is from episode #1:

He's very cute barefoot... At least when he doesn't fly.

When you watched the French series, did you have a verbal intro before the song? Because here we saw Astro being built and then walking for the first time, and we see his toes.

Atoman can either confirm or deny this, but I think I have seen the snot bubbles on some 'sleeping' robot in his 1960 raw Japanese collection.

Such things as breathlessness, perspiration, weeping, etc are used to show emotion more than they are intended to be taken literally.

What are "snot bubbles"? I know what a bubble is but "snot" isn't in my dictionnary. :(

I forgot Astro and Mount Blanc drying their forehead when they are tired!

I agree. Apart from Astro's snoring, I usually don't even notice them because they look so natural.

:wahah: Yeah, the intro started off as "Dans le secret de la laboratoire de Futurapolis le professeur Baltus à creé un nouveau robot. Ce robot...etc.". Overhere the opening/ending theme was sung by a male singer instead of a female choir, which obviously was the case in the french canadian versions. Can you confirm this? ;)

I just had a look in an online dictionary. I think the french equivalent of 'snot' is 'morve'.

Nose poo. Nostril mucus. Bogey. Booger.
A snot bubble is the disgustingly hilarious bubble of snot that forms over one nostril in little kids and anime characters. In anime characters, it shows they're asleep as it gets bigger and smaller to match their breathing.

When you watched the French series, did you have a verbal intro before the song? Because here we saw Astro being built and then walking for the first time, and we see his toes.

No, this was something added to the French series.

I recall some poor robot being trapped inside Dr. O's snot bubble, and eventually being swallowed by him. :wahah:

It was definitely not a male singer. I've just heard it and it really sounds like children to me. Maybe even only boys, but I'm really not sure.

Thanks for the explanations, DrFrag and Strange Wings.
