We are already at page 5, and nothing has begun, so allow me the honnor 
Dr. Elefun was litterally running to the Ministery of Science. Astro had just phoned him, and he just couldn't believe what he had been told. When he arrived, Astro was already here, waiting in his office.
- Is it true Astro? Have you really managed to salvage Niky's electronic brain from her wreckage? And are you sure you could memorize accurately how she was built?

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

At that point, he was interrupted by a call from Dr.Saruto. He said that robita had found the design of a robot resembling astro, with some differences.

Robots don't have an afterlife. Our minds are made up of binary data, a series of 0's and 1's. Even Astro and I, robots that were made with a human mind and a soul had nothing to expect when we died... but I wasn't dead. I knew that. If I was dead then how could I still be alive? I guessed my electronic brain was still operational somehow. Perhaps the emergency lithium designed to save data if my energy cassttes was being rerouted? I could not see... I had no eyes, and no voicebox to speak but I had my ears still attached I could hear faintly what was going on. and I could sense movement. I was carried somewhere and placed on a hard flat surface (a table?) I heard a voice.

Oh he remembered? Oh that was great! maybe I could be built again and stay with Astro forever! I felt lightheaded. Maybe I could live the ordinary life Astro led? Go to school, have a family of my own, make friends, play with toys! no more combat robots, no more reading maps of cities and learning where the best place for my nuclear explosion would be. No more living in fear that I'd be asked to go on a literal suicide mission. I could even have the three laws of robotics programmed back into my system and be a good girl.
I would have to help mankind though. I've done enough damage already by simply existing. I'm too dangerous and I've fallen into the wrong hands already... No. This time it would be different. Astro's friend Dr. Elephan's not mad like Dr Tenma. He wouldn't put all those crazy mad scientist weapons in me like our creator did... Oh but I wish he would a little bit, I'd like to be able to shoot lasers and flashlights... not fly though, that's scary. I heard the telephone ring and they were interruped by a phone conversation. Come on! don't they know I'm sitting here half deactivated just waiting to be rebuilt? Don't they understand how boring this is waiting? I decided to try and move. If I thought really hard I could draw too much power into my brain and an LED would light up and make a little beeping sound... or maybe I could try and turn on my cooling system? that makes a little bit of noise and my processer is getting hot. Do I have any coolant left in my brain? yes a little but not enough... I'll try the beeping. I thought hard and was rewarded with a beeping noise

I hope that would get their attention back to building me a new body... ofr at least let them know I needed to beput to a power source soon before my lithium battery dies and my active data is lost... Hurry Astro!

Meanwhile, at his secret hide-out, the sinister Kin Sankaku was scheming an evil scheme. He had learned of the H-bomb robots developed by Dr. Rindalf, and how these were based upon Atom's design. Knowing of Dr. Fooler (Minimini)'s desire to acquire Atom, he hoped to obtain the design and use it to entice Fooler into working with him. As it now stood, Fooler's only interest was building Zohra, a giant robotic elephant that he hoped would make his African safari park profitable. 
BTW Stikibunn, your narritive reminds me of a TZ story in which a man was paralyzied and thinking people might take him for dead.
He was just lying on the road after an automobile collision, and the story was focused on his thoughts.

((Sparx: So far what's going on is that you salvaged my brain and you've gone to see Dr Elephan to get me rebuilt.
Dr Saruto has called to say he found a robot which was simular to astro (me maybe as I suggested that one clone survived the destruction because she was already activated?) and meanwhile elsewhere someone had heard of my existence and wants to kidnap me. (I'm not even alive yet and they want to kidnap me!) I'm still active so I made a beeping sound with my processor (you know like that little LED on your computer that lights up when your computer is trying to work at full power) so that I can get your attention. Now we're going to raise the stakes by introducing my clone...))
In a city in a southern continent, unchanged for almost half a century a small girl with a headband walked over an ancient victorianate stone bridge. The city was old but very beautiful, full of green gardens in the heart of the city. She longed to play here, to run through the parkland and make friends with the other children but she could not. She finished crossing the bridge and arrived at Flinder's Street Station, an ancient landmark of the city. She bought a ticket from the automated machines and went to the platform. The rails were composite rails, traditional railway tracks, now rusty and rarely used, and Magnelev tracks in the middle. She boarded a train and smiled. She always liked trains. Back at the base she used to watch them go by, dreaming of travelling... Oh wait, that wasn't her, that was her older sister Niki. All of her kind shared memories that were downloaded into the system on daily uploads and then downloaded into the others. This way they would not fear death. She had not experienced Niki's last day and met Astro, neither would the next Niki unit remember today. She sat in a seat and a mother with a small child a girl much younger then herself, holding a doll. She felt sick. Something inside her said "But it's ok. When you go off the little girl will die so quickly she won't feel pain. It's ok Viki." This was her creator speaking. Not directly of course, it was a recorded message. Dr Rindolf knew his robot's personalities and planned messages to play them in their heads to alleviate their moral dilemmas... but this unit, Viki, was not going to be hushed. She got off the train at the next station and went to a payphone. She called the Ministry of Science but nobody answered so she left a message with the answering machine.

She hung up the phone and ran to another railway platform. She found a train headed for the country. She lept on it as the doors shut and dropped into a seat. She cried as she travelled. In 1 hour she would get off the train and run as far away from anyone as she could She used her internal GPS system to locate a safe site, she giggled when she found the perfect spot along the route. If she jumped of the train and ran she could get there with ten minutes to get comfortable. It was an interesting place to pick. the americans had tested nuclear bombs there in the 50's. an hour later the gemstone in her headband began to flash and she pulled open the automatic doors of the train and leapt out. She started running as the train rushed of into the setting sun. The only light she saw was the red "active" alert light on her head flashing on and off. If she tripped and fell she wouldn't make it there on time and maybe kill someone. She tore away the barbed wire and chain link fence and then continued running. She shoes had broken off and the plexiflesh on her legs had torn away, exposing her greasy metal workings. The bindings on her hair follicles came loose and her locks of blond hair flew away in her wake. Her dress, identical to Niki's apart from the green coloration was tons apart in the scrub. She had nothing left but tatters by the time she reached the charred black that once was ground zero. She threw herself to the ground in exhaustion. She looked up at the stars of the Australian outback. Viki had never seen them so beautiful. A tear fell down her cheek... Robots don't cry... This wasn't a tear. it was coolant leaking. it had a green tinge and smelt acidic. It burnt her eye. Now she only had one to look out of for her last few minutes.

I wonder if the creator would make the robots aware of their purpose? I doubt it, but the story is underway, so I must make my guys do something.
Meanwhile, as Kin Sankaku sat under a patio umbrella, reading an unidentified book & sipping JOLT cola. Grass skirt-clad women fanned him with palm leaves, while others sang songs soothing to his ears. He had set himself up as a king on this south seas island, but he intended to become a God.
his relaxation was suddenly interrupted by a servant with an urgent message. The man entered the patio, knelt and said:
"Master, I have an urgent--"
"How many times must I tell you, Igor, never interrupt me when I'm reading ASTROBOY manga! What could poosibly be more important than ASTROBOY fighting PLUTO?"
"My humblest appologies, master, but Dr. Fooler--"
"Ah, my good friend Dr. Fooler, has he agreed to my terms?"
"I regret to inform you master, but Dr. Fooler has turned down your most generous offer. However, both Dr. Hyde (of Robot Land) and Dr. Baribari (Cleopatra's creator) have both agreed to form an alliance to defeat Atom."
"What about the other evil scientists?"
"Only Dr. Hyde, Dr. Baribari, & Dr. Fooler have replied thus far, master."
"Drat, Drat, & DOUBLE DRAT!! How am I suppsed to learn my enemy's weaknesses if only 2 evil scientist create evil robots to attack him & learn his weaknesses?
Igor flattened himself against the concrete, hoping to avoid his master's lash.
"Did my ASTROBOY DVDs arrive yet?"
"No, master, but tracking indicates that the local PO has it. Master, may I ask why, if you are out to defeat ASTROBOY, you get such a kick reading comics and watching cartoons about him?"
"It's quite simple, Igor, I am researching to find his weaknesses. His older adventures may give me some clues as to how best to defeat him; besides that, they're quite entertaining. How is work proceeding on THE ARTIFICIAL SUN & the SEASERPENT?"
"Everything on on schedule, master."
"Good, soon these natives & the whole world shall revere me as a god! If anyone dares defy me, I shall melt him with my ARTIFICIAL SUN, which ironically was created by Dr. Ochanomizu! Neyah ha ha (Dishonest John style evil laugh).

((before Niki died in the show she told Astro that she was supposed to die this way and she knew what was happening when her bomb was armed. I guess they know their purpose.))
Her appearance had fooled the security guards and her plexiflesh which coated her defused the magnetic field in the metal detector at the airport. She looked around. Her identical twin would be landing this very moment at Melbourne Airport, on the opposite hemisphere, two hours behind when you take the timezone into account. She reset her internal clock to match the local time and realized she had two days to enjoy the rest of her life.
She knew Japanese, it was a standard language in her databank and she liked it more then the Russian-based dialect she was used to ((Niki's not from Russia but I always thought of their country as being part of the USSR so they speak Russian because I like to insert an element of realism into things by introducing real places.)) Perhaps it was because she was designed by a Japanese person? she didn't know why but the language was much better to speak.
Metro-City was a beautiful place. The center of technology, in the country which is the center of robotics. It is here where robots first gained the minmum amount of human rights they currently had. Had it not been for robot rights activists here there wouldn't be free will programming in robots.
This Niki (named Kiki as Dr Rindolf ran out of names) wanted to see everything the city had to offer her before she went tomorrow. She still had to choose a target... Should she go for Irony and her twisted sense of humor and bomb Hiroshima? Or maybe a more millitary based target like a factory district, or a bustling shopping area or the airport?
"Oh robot fighting!" She said happily. "I would like to watch that!" She bought a ticket and watched robots kill each other, then went to childrens land to ask the computer where else would be a fun place to visit. He said to go watch the robots racing in the Formula 1 racing circuit She went to watch the race and sat in the front row... where she was spotted...
