kane, it would probably help if you told us what that "something" was that you downloaded, do you really expect someone here to guess which file you dowloaded and cannot play?

I think that the common problem with playing these files is the codec required. If you read up earlier in this thread it mentions the divX player & codec suit these files to a T. Try a different codec or the divX player. That might be what you need to fix what ails ya!!!

FTP's not working again...
and i'm only 93% completed. just 45 minutes of downloading and i would have been able to watch this episode i've been downloading.

is the FTP closed for now due to upgrade or something?

I took it down for a few hours to do a few CPU&harddrive intensive things (emulator testing and video processing stuff). It's back up now.
I dunno why CuteFTP asks you to overwrite sometimes, hope you can figure that out...

I just had a router installed so my bother's computer can get on the internet. As a result, the FTP probably won't be avalable from the address I gave out earlier. I'll try to figure something out in the next few days when I get a chance to mess with the router's settings and figure out if my new IP is static or if I can reactivate the old IP. Just letting you guys know why it's down.

You should be able to set up a static address. My Linksys router interferes with downloading via Overnet, but I cannot seem to set up a bypass because the cable internet is not even static. I was tired of messing with it. If your worked before, you should be able to make it work with a router.

Yeah, I just did some fiddling to make Emule work and noticed that the ftp's being accessed. Looks like the problem's been solved...
