am glad that Sadam is out but why can't people realise that WE ALL BLEED RED!! YOU FIGHT OVER DIRT!!! YOU ARE KILLING BECAUSE SOMEONE WHO SHOULDN'T MATTER THINKS DIFFERENTLY TO YOU!!! LIVE AND LET LIVE!!! If only the POWERS-THAT-BE were more like Star Trek, where all are respected for what the are. I think that peace would be achieved if the world walked around NAKED cause then we would all be too busy laughing at how stoopid we all look & perving on the ones who deserve perving on

It would be nice, but let us realize that whether we are humans, apes or elephants, there exists the natural will to dominate others. There are leaders and followers, and there are those who would sieze the dominant position, regardless of what means must be employed. When you enemy gives you the choice between taking up arm to defend you way of life, or becoming his slave, that is when it is time to dump Neville Chamberlain and use Winston Churchill as the leader. Chamberlain wanted peace at any cost, as such, he was willing to break covenant with Poland, and allow Hitler a free hand to rape it. As long as the war did not cross the English Channel, Chamberlain was satisfied. But, when it became apparent that Hitler would soon conquer France, and then set his sights upon England, Chamberlain wet his pants. He could not even imagine taking up arms. The memory of the slaughter of WWI was what frightened him, and he would stop at no act of cowardace to avoid it. Churchill realized that like it or not, war was looming, and he best prepare for it. The Romans had a saying, " If you want peace  , prepare for war."

Whether or not Saddam had Weapons of mass destruction is debatable; however, we know that he did use poison gas on civilians, and was at least trying to build an atomic weapon, a good ten years ago.

Just possessing atomic weapons seems to be a thing that Western powers (the USA especailly) reserve to themselves. Let India or Pakistan try to build their own, and the US has a fit, even more so should N. Korea try to get them! But here is a nation ruled by one guy, who has his way, or else. Quite another thing from a democracy having them.

I think that peace would be achieved if the world walked around NAKED cause then we would all be too busy laughing at how stoopid we all look & perving on the ones who deserve perving on

I would have great difficulty getting around without my leg brace and orthopedic shoes, but my body is quite gross with scars from various surgeries, and asmetric development :( . Even if everybody was naked, I would be the one who felt naked and ashamed! Oh, to be an innocent little kid again and forever!

Whether naked or clothed, the will to dominate exists in some of us. :( There are still naked people living in Africa and South America, some are head-hunters. :o

Oh, to be an innocent little kid again and forever!

:) You said exactly what I wanted to say but could not phase it to sound right. If we all perceived each othre with the eyes of a child. I do day care & see how easily kids respond to a child noticably different. One child has a proounced limp & carries his arm, another plays while carrying the pack for his "bionic" ear. none of the kids at this centre pay attention to this. I was bought up with the attitude that noone is above or below us, we are all as vulnerable and fragile as each other, Physicaly & emotionaly. I was picked on at school because I have a small nose & a pronouced bottom jaw(flatface was their favorite  ) but despite if I saw someone needing help I would do all in my power to do so. People eventualy took me for who I was & how I responded to them & I hope that my kids can do the same. If more people saw each other as not being deformed, coloured or religeous but as humans we would be much closer to that thing called peace

The Romans had a saying, " If you want peace , prepare for war."

I believe in war as a means for peace, to remove those who would persecute & distroy a race just for their own power purposes. Some people comare Sadam & Bush but I believe that Bush is at least feeding & trying to help restore order. To achieve a goal maybe we need to choose the lesser of two evils! I would rather Bush than Saddam greeting me on the TV each morning. I know I am probably naive in my statements. I am priveleged to live in Ausralia that has seen little in the way of war. We have had brushes but have never had a full blown war to fight on our soil. But I think all australians would fight to defend what we do have. We are indeed the very lucky country. If only everyone could say that  :(

And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Whole Chapter: Matthew 18 In context: Matthew 18:2-4)

the only thing i fear and very much concerned of is how people handle freedom. its like putting a person all of his life in a prison then suddenly you decided to let him go. Tell him his now free from his bondage. Will you think he will deprived himself of his new found freedom???? Like here in our country, we were once under a regime(President Marcos to be exact who became our president for over 20 years.) Other call him the Enemy and the Dictator( I call him the greatest President the Philippines ever had :) ). Filipinos want him out and the fight was triggered by the death of Ninoy Aquino( the father of our very famous and controversial actress Kris Aquino :D ). Marcos was the only enemy then, but after him, nobody knows now whos the enemy afterwards. Many people tried to take the position and until now its the same old cycle the Philippines is experiencing. It has now became the battle of the elite and many people believe that politics is a dirty game to play since then. But still i believe many should consider and think that freedom comes with responsibily. :)

I cannot state authoritatively, but I think he is incapable of intentionally doing evil. I base this opinion upon my 17 manga books, 35 or 36 B&W episodes, 52 80s, and so far, 24 new ones. It is contrary to his nature to choose evil; therefore, he cannot choose evil.

He can do something believing it is good, but later learning otherwise. For example, "Lilly on Peligro Island", "Robot Land", and "The Robot Vikings" (80s) had him defy the law or authority figures that forbade his helping others (not just humans, but also robots) under those circumstances.

In the first two, because he needed govt. permission to leave the country, and could not get it. While in "The "The Robot Vikings", because Inspector Tawashi {Gumshoe} had ordered him to stay home, and inside the house. He specifically forbade his tackling them. In none of these, was he motivated by personal gain, although the "Robot Vikings" had him motivated by revenge for what they had done to poor ol' Jump. :o  Uran, on the other hand, was surely motivated by greed when she blackmailed him in "The Robot Vikings". After helping him apply his puppy-dog disguise, she insisted that $5 would keep her from telling mom about it. :o  Hooray for stuff that reminds me of my childhood! "Pay me or I'll tell mom!"

:D By all standards, robots must obey lawful human commands. Thus, when he knowingly defied these commands, he chose mala prohibita, He committed acts which were offenses because the law prohibited them. He could not commit mala in se, acts that were morally wrong, regardless of whether or not they were against the law. :P

by that you mean astroboy knows evil but it is not his intention to do this "bad" things(in human perception of bad and good). he is just forced by the situation he's just facing, is that it???

By all standards, robots must obey lawful human commands.

I dont know if this is correct but is true that during astroboys time, a robot needs a permit before he could be purchased or be used. since astroboy is considered half human or half robot with human abilities, does he have one??

I do not think he was considered half-human, but he was the most advanced robot, whose intelligence rivalled human intelligence. In the manga, he is restricted by law more so than in the animated series. The robot law was an obstacle to his doing good on more than a few occasions. Once, his parents initially forbade his going to save Dr. Ochanomizu (Elefun) because he would risk the death penalty if he did. But later, they decide that he must do what he beleives is right, regardless of the law and possible consequences. I have taken note on the manga and the B&W series, and hope to publish my own Astroboy pages soon.

1. I do not think he breathes by necessity; however, in a manga he had removed his own artificial larynax (he had good reason at the time). Using one of those as opposed to an electro-magnetic speaker would seem to require breath. How he breathes is never addressed.

2.In "Save the Classmate" he crashes in a skidding motion with a painful facial expression. I think he does feel pain, but unlike the Terminator, the Heart Warminator does feel pain. However, I have never seen him barely able to fight because of intense pain.

3. Episode 1 of both the B&W and 80s have him eating, opening his chest and removing the food. In the B&W, after eating a doughnut one bite at a time, he produces a whole doughnut from his chest, and returns it to the plate! :D In the 80s, the chewed food falls to the ground, where he vaporizes it. In the manga 6-8, he produces a plastic bag containg the food! :D
