Damned... difficult to have an unbiased re-reading
The "antropomorphic bias" is the thing that does not work anymore, since in the second case it only involves robots I know, I re-read it now and realized it was not very clear

Oh I see! But I did find your post amusing anyway!

I think Astro has a lot of "antropomorphic bias" set up in his operating system, at the very least to show spontaneous facial expressions. Maybe they overloaded him!

All robots in Astroboy are antropomorphic: they all are very human-looking, behave usually almost like humans ( even and especially Atlas the human-hater ), feel emotions, and even breath I am sure there are many other examples but I am too tired (lazy) to find a more exhaustive list
I am not sure whether it was intentional to make them so human, but it sure make more evident the racism issue condemned in so many Astroboy episodes.

I think we all somehow identified ourselves with Astro; the show wouldn't be appealing if Astro was just a moving metal shape. As for Atlas, I was thinking the same thing the other day. He hates humans, yet he "reshaped" himself as a super developped human. Go figure! :wacko: This is such a nonsense that it just shows how human he is, not only in how he looks but in how he thinks too! Only humans are capable of such contradictions!

I tried, but saw nothing special... But then the vid is small and I taped over that episode a few years ago....

However I did notice how he moved around! I think that was cut in the French version (not the whole scene, just the beginning).
