I did this picture after all the guff I saw on the net concerning Hiroshima. Tezuka's feelings were always well known, he blamed the Emperor and the government for getting Japan into such a disasterous conflict and man in general for waging such a world wide hollocaust. Atom was Tezuka's way of showing that the Atom had better purposes as a power for peace. But the duality remains, both the good and the bad of our harnessing the basic powers of the universe.

Reno was sitting on the dome waiting as Astro could be seen coming in over the tops of the nearby buildings. He spread the pillows out on the alluminum surface as Astro came down and landed beside him. "You are such a life saver Reno."

"I imagine wrestling a heard of escaping cows was kinda screwy." Reno said as Astro fluffed a pillow and flopped on his back.

"You have no idea...I'm all out of main power...I'm so beat up."

Reno smirked. "And you didn't get me any milk? How one way of you!"

Astro turned his head. "I'll gladly fly you there and drop you into the pen so you can have a one on one argument........with.......yawn......old bosssy........yawn......zzzzzzz..."

Reno chuckled as he lay on his side. "You're hillarious Astro......zzzzzzzzz....."

Both boys slept the whole afternoon away.

I think it really took off during my years based in Japan, lots of exposure in the freelance markets in Yokohama. I did some small time work, mostly drawing Astroboy or Tezuka related stuff on the gastanks or hoods of "Bozo" bikes and cars. A friend of mine in the Navy Wess Sopher was really into the Bozo "pimping" style for Skyline cars and he got me some small jobs for yen or a chance to enjoy dinners in Japanese homes.

I'll flatter Adrian again : ) By far you can capture the 2003 Atom better than any of us, you should be doing work for TezPro or looking on-lin to get work if they decide to do a new Manga series there. It seems now to cut costs most comic book companies are outsourcing a lot of base color work to fans.

As for working with TezProd. I've never even decided yet if I will take up a comic artist career because I'm just a college freshman. Maybe if my passion for Astroboy continued after the next four years, I might consider being a manga artist in Japan.
