They should have cast her for Cora and cast an actual boy actor for Astro. Not surprisingly, her voice sounds too much of a girl. I don't know why but the producer in Japan have the tendency to cast voice actress for male characters.

Indeed; doing this just causes a big rift between either version of the movie. This is only the second instance where Astro has had a boy voice him (the first being from 23 years ago and hard to find), and I'm sure a boy his size wouldn't sound like he does there. If they still had to get a voice actress for the movie, they could try Megumi Ohta, who some of you know as Shinji Ikari.
