Sorry everyone; I have been off the site for awhile trying to finish up the story by the notebook before I continue typing it, but every once in awhile, I do a bit of both as well. :D
According to the notebook, I've written about 9 chapters; I plan to make the story 40 chapters long so...(pretty long, right?)
(It's not my fault my ideas can stretch for more than two years!)
Here's Ch. 33:

Chapter 33: Tenma’s Condition

Zircon couldn’t sleep well during the night. Her mind was still locked on her vision; it was around one ‘o clock in the morning. She felt as if she couldn’t get the through out of her head unless she gets it over with now. Soon, she heard a noise from outside the window; a couple of pebbles were thrown. She quietly got up and walked towards the window to see…a robot dog? She slowly opened the window to get a better view. The dog flashed its red eyes at Zircon as she stared back.

*Is that Dr. Tenma’s robot dog?* she thought. Just then, the dog started to run off. Zircon noticed the action. “Hey, wait up!” she yelled quietly as she jumped out from the window and landed to follow. The robot dog was taking her to an area very far from home; when it stopped in its place, Zircon looked up the building that it led her to.

“Is that…?” she asked herself; if appeared to be Tenma’s house. This gave Zircon an interesting thought. “Why does it look so familiar?” “This is one of the areas in which I took you to get revived,” Zircon was shocked; the dog was talking? “I was revived by you here?” She questioned herself again. “Allow me to help get your mind back in order.”

The dog generated a portal; it then knocked Zircon in by the time she turned to notice it, and it closed in after the dog followed in. They both turned up underground; she took the time to look around. Robots and other useless, by what it looked like, machinery was planted all around the area. *It is all familiar!* she thought.

“I’m glad you came around,” a voice said; it appeared behind a chair in front of her. It turned around; it was an unbelievable sight, Zircon had gasped. “Welcome, Zircon,” Dr. Tenma said while he grinned. “Remember this place? This was the place where I had you revived; can you recognize it?” Zircon looked around once more feeling shocked; there was more than just machinery that was lying everywhere: destroyed robots, shut down systems, and broken or cracked walls and ceilings.

“I remember,” she said when her head was tilted downward. “I caused all of this.” Tenma nodded to agree. “This never should’ve happened; everything is gone because of you…” “Me?” Zircon cut him off. “It can’t be my fault, and it’s not your fault that you didn’t know the jewel’s bad effects.” Tenma stood up.

“I don’t care whose fault it is,” he said. “It never should’ve happened! Why had Shadow had to create you like this?” Zircon just stood there with a solemn face. “So what if Shadow competes with you,” she said. “What’s in it to you? It wouldn’t be a problem if you have to be so over reactive about-“ “”Over reactive?” Tenma cut her sentence off. “Well then, we’ll see how over reactive I am when this feud ends; I have something that may amaze you.”

He pressed a button on the control pad behind him, which made a door roll up in front of both of them; a robot appeared active behind it. The robot had an interesting appearance: a diagonal spike on the side of its head, another stood out near the back of his neck, the shoes were a tad larger, while his entire body color was darker than expected. Zircon found his appearance unbelievable; it was the same as her vision! It was a class one robot; showing more of an advanced type as Astro! His red glowed brightly as it walked slowly out the door; Zircon looked frightened when she saw this; the robot stopped just a few yards in front of her.

“I knew it would frighten you,” Tenma said while walking up to his built robot. “This is Nitro; he’s the advanced version of Tobio. When I mean advanced, he’s a lot better than who’d you expect.” Zircon gained confidence and looked at Tenma. “Can you prove that?” she asked. “Certainly; you’ll find that out right now…I find you great for my, practice target.” Zircon’s eyes grew a bit wide. As Tenma grinned, Nitro quickly moved behind Zircon and lunges an arm at the back of her neck with a strong force. The attack made her move forward about a yard; he repeated the attack, aimed at her chest when he moved in front of her, and the blow caused her to fall back.

“Don’t be too frightened over a little strength, if that’s what you think it might be,” Tenma said. “There’s still more to come; Nitro will be happy to take care of you, unless, for a price.” Zircon acted confused as she slowly stood up. “What price?” she asked. Tenma just grinned and chuckled a bit. “You won’t know unless you accept it.” He allowed Nitro to attack again’ his next attack fired out a series of lasers from his hands at her. Zircon noticed the action and hurriedly formed miniature shields in front of her arms as he circled her. He later on formed a beam strong enough that it quickly sent her flying towards the wall, and then onto the floor.

Fighting back wasn’t as well as it was planned; everything was tried and it never laid a single scratch on Nitro. Zircon sat exhausted for a minute; sparks flew about her body, as well as the scratch marks. She looked up slowly at Nitro, and then at Tenma.

“Alright I give,” she said as she turned down at the floor again. “What’s your price?” This made Tenma grin even more. “I knew you’d do this,” he said. “All I want will be very simple.” Zircon looked up. “It’s not going to harm my friends, is it?” she asked. Tenma shook his still grinning. “Listen carefully; I found a way to make my dream a reality. I won’t tell you much about it, but, I tend to have Nitro allow ‘outer projectiles’ take care of this place.” Zircon gasped.

“Meteors? How crazy can you be? You can’t go on with this!” “Watch me,” Tenma stared at his computer screen and watched the Earth’s orbit along with the Solar System and magnified an area around Earth. “There will be a small group of asteroids moving by Earth’s atmosphere by tomorrow afternoon; Nitro will be glad to take them down for me. The operation will be complete once it resolves.” She stood up.

“You’re not getting away with this!” she yells. Tenma turns around. “That’s why I told you this,” he said. He signaled Nitro to get near her and patch an unknown device to the icon of her neck; the device appeared to be similar to the jewel on Zircon, but it was crimson colored when compared. “I just gave you a little present; it’s a negative reinforcement device. If you ever try to spill my plans to anybody, it’ll do more than just stun you.” The device blinked its light dimly in its place. “Why did you tell me this?” Zircon asked a bit confused. “You’re one of the robots who I needed out of the way of my operation; how could I trust you on keeping this private?” Zircon was still confused about the whole thing, though she just stared down at the floor.

“I won’t tell anyone; I’ll keep quiet about it.” “Excellent, though we’ll see if you can survive; now get going, so no one will know that you were here.” The robot dog came be once again to create a portal to send Zircon back in front of Tenma’s house; she did what was told and headed home. However, she didn’t like what was happening. Meteors, Nitro? How could all of this get explained to Doctor and Astro? The device can alert the host about personal information; what if she weren’t active?

I've made another chapter error; the last one I've put up here is not Ch.33, but Ch.34; I hate noticing these things..

Here's the next one:

Chapter 35: A Way to Spread

No one noticed that Zircon had left home; she quietly flew back through the window and sat on her bed. She kept thinking about Tenma’s plan; she couldn’t understand much on why he wanted her out of the way instead of Astro. Though, telling anyone else can face consequences.

*I can’t follow his orders; I need to spread it out somehow…* She looked at Astro and thought for a second and then found the right idea. *What if I wasn’t active? Tenma probably wouldn’t know if I were sleeping! Although, it’s just a guess; I’m not sure what will happen…*

She took the chance to relax and doze off; while that happened, her concentration went towards Astro’s mind. She appeared normally inside an empty room; Astro on the other hand had a game set up of three-dimensional chess. His back was turned from her, so she needed to get his attention.

“Mind if I join you?” she asked slightly smiling. Astro turned around. “Zircon?” he asked. “What are you doing in my dream, or should I say; my mind?” She walked by the other side of the board and sat down. “How I got here is not important,” she said. “I’m just here to chat about the talk we had last night.” She moved a pawn forward two spaces; Astro did the same, but to a pawn which was two spaces opposing to hers.

“This is about you checking on Dr. Tenma alone? What about it?” Zircon moves another pawn by one space. “I went there awhile ago while you were sleeping.” He moved another pawn while this was said. “You did? How’s that possible?” She moved a knight to take the spot of one of his pawns. “One of his robot dogs came to our house during the night. Though I couldn’t sleep, it caught my attention, so I followed it to its destination which appeared to be Dr. Tenma’s house.” Astro paused after he had taken Zircon’s using his bishop, and looked up.

“Wait a second,” he said. “What was that all about?” Zircon stood silent before she responded. She skipped some of the details till she reached the point where she crossed by Tenma. She moved another pawn forward. “He’s planning to destroy Metro City; he has a new advanced robot to help accomplish it.” Astro moved his bishop a spot further. “A new robot? We need to stop him!” “I wish we could,” Zircon stares down at the board.

“What’s up?” Astro asked. Tenma found a way to keep me out of it; if I interfere, I won’t know how much trouble I will get.” “Trouble…what did he do to you?” She looked up at Astro. “He planted this electromagnetic device on the back of the icon of my neck; he says if I tell, it can do more than shock me…” Astro just sat stunned.

“What if I held him off?” “Defending is okay, but it probably won’t do any good; Nitro knows better than that.” He became concerned when he heard her say the robot’s name. “Is there a reason why you’re telling me this?” “I figured I wouldn’t get electrified if I wasn’t active; turns out it worked if I’m sleeping, otherwise I would’ve lost my communication in here. Anyway, I want you to spread this for me.” “Me? Why not Dr. O’shay?” Zircon stood up and changed her gaze towards the blankness of the empty room.

“Besides Doctor, I can trust you just as much as him. I depend on whoever is capable on ending this.” She looked at Astro and smiled. “My possibilities all go, well, towards you Astro.” Astro took in her words and smiled; he then stood up. “I won’t let you down,” he said, and then held out a hand above his waist. “Trust me?” Zircon looked at his hand. “I’ll always will,” She agreed and grasped his hand tightly in return. After while, Zircon’s actual body was tiring out because of Dr. Tenma’s visit, so afterwards she was losing communication in Astro’s mind. By the time she returned, she remained asleep, with a smile.

Great news; I finished the story by hand! Meaning, I have finished the story, though hasn't been completely typed on the computer. So...give me the time to get to it. :whistling:

Chapter 34: Spread/Device Defect

Astro remembered well enough of last night when he awoke the next morning. He quickly ran out of the room to tell Dr. O’shay without waking Zoran or Zircon up. Even though he explained it with not a lot of details, he also told him about the device and also answered Doctor’s question on how Zircon gave out the information without getting affected by the device.

The news was spreading around the city like a virus, slowly but quickly; Dr. Tenma’s plan was pretty much spreading throughout the city besides the device. All Zircon could do was sit around and watch the plan go into action until the afternoon came around; however, it didn’t happen, Tenma’s plan that is. Nitro was no where to be found at this hour; though, the robot dog came by again to grab her attention. She was worried about what was going to happen next. *Has Tenma found out about what I did?* she thought. Even though it felt like a huge risk, she chose to follow it back to Tenma’s lair.

The back of his chair was facing toward her as he sited the Solar System. “It seems like my calculations were wrong,” he said. “The belt won’t come by Earth until two more days; don’t you think so?” Zircon was a bit confused on what he was saying; it might’ve been rhetorical. His chair turned around; he still had that evil-looking grin on his face as he looked at her. “No matter; I have other ways of biding time, just enough to keep you out cold for the next couple of days.”

Zircon appeared shocked; out cold? She had no idea what he would be doing to her when that was said; what exactly was he trying to do? Tenma alarmed Nitro to activate the device’s feature patched to Zircon; the shock was strong enough to send her already to her knees. She later on had the energy to stand up, but her vision kept losing and regaining focus.

“So you know how I distributed your plan,” she said. “I always find a way; you’re not even trying to make this hard enough than it already is!” “Quiet!” Nitro shocked her the second time; she fell to he knees again. “You’ve gone too far with this; I cannot expect you to get away with this!” Zircon attempted to stand up again; Tenma allowed Nitro to shock her once more, though, Zircon had her jewel in a position to try to reduce the damage. However, it didn’t go well as planned; the jewel caught the device’s action as an energy that it couldn’t recognize. It kept running energy back and forth until the device reacted differently on Zircon.

“What’s going on!?” Tenma exclaimed. The device’s effect was still in tact, but this caused an unusual effect on her; her body started to get covered in that chrome-like structure from earlier when she crashed landed in front of Dr. O’shay’s house, and her eyes were a light blue.

“What just happened!?” Tenma exclaimed. Nitro somehow lost control of the device’s action; instead, the jewel took its control, though kept its formation by keeping itself and the device active. This really amazed Tenma; she still couldn’t figure out what happened.

“This is your doing! What have you done?” Zircon didn’t respond; the jewel kept most control over her body and its surroundings, but not her mind. The jewel itself scanned every part of Nitro; since the mind wasn’t controlled, Zircon took the chance to look.

*The brain has a small portion of…AI?* she thought. *So Nitro does happen to have kokoro; he’s mind was only programmed to have just one emotion; anger…* The jewel then scanned at Nitro’s weak points; overriding the mobility circuits of his arms and legs seemed to do the trick. Zircon could do nothing but gasp. *I have to gain control of my body soon!*

“Nitro! Take care of Zircon for me!” Tenma only cared about his plans and getting the chance of possessing Zircon’s jewel; he had no care for Nitro’s doing. Nitro went in for a full-blown tackle; however, Zircon’s form was developed oddly well. The shield it formed sent him flying toward a wall, leaving a large dent in with cracked of fallen wall pieces. Tenma stood surprised, though kept watching Zircon on the other hand was trying to regain control of her at least her legs and arms; after awhile from battling, she gained control of her legs chose to run off. Nitro followed; Zircon soon took control of her arms and flight abilities.

Beams came by her one by one, but as the shield blocked off the shots, something unusual happened. Nitro somehow gained control over the device! He then attempted to activate it; the device shocked Zircon well enough that it made the jewel more haywire than it already was. Waves of energy kept intercepting back and forth rapidly between them; although the jewel didn’t cause a meltdown, instead it acted more like a defender! A blast of its energy surrounded and expanded about five feet apart around Zircon as its field floated in the noon sky; her body was curled up in its center floating helplessly.

When Tenma looked about see, he slowly grinned and called Nitro back. “This will keep her out of our way till then,” he said as he entered back into his lair. “Just enough to finish what I’ve just started…”

The energy field couldn’t allow her to move much or escape out of her position; though her mind was still in tact. *I never should’ve followed that robot dog the first time I saw it,* she thought. *None of this could’ve ever happened…only if I hadn’t been created…*

Next chapter's coming in a bit.

Chapter 35: Breaking the Habit/Planning

It was still pretty close to dusk after the incident; it’s been awhile ever since Astro had realized Zircon disappeared from the house for about an hour or so. He searched around before he reported to Dr. O’shay, who was lounging in the living room, until something interesting was seen on television.

“There appears to be an unidentified object floating above the city,” the reporter says. “The copters in the skies are trying to keep a descent distance from it to get a better look; however, their weapons can’t seem to penetrate the field. Though figure in it seems very opaque to the human eye, some can probably identify it.” They both stared at the screen in surprise.

“That’s Zircon!” Astro bellowed. “Was this part of the effects of that device?” Doctor asked. “I don’t think so, but the form might’ve triggered when it and the jewel activated at the same time…We need to save her!” “Weapons can’t get through, otherwise they’re not strong enough to; how is it possible to break the field?” Astro paused to look at the floor and clutched his fists. “I’ll find a way,” he said. “I promised to help her whenever she’s in trouble; I can’t just sit around and let her suffer! She depends on me, you, and Zoran; this also includes everyone who depends on the lives of robots!” Dr. O’shay greatly agreed; this changed his mind completely and got up to get a closer look as they both exited the house.

The majority of the roads were blocked off by police cruisers and report cars when they reached the area. Tawashi later on came by to block them off. “This area is strictly off limits, Dr. O’shay,” he said. “We don’t want you to interfere!” “That’s Zircon you’re talking about, Detective,” Doctor said. “We plan on getting that field eliminated.” “Officers have tried everything to break through; the field just absorbs our shots, so you have no reason of being here, Doctor.” Astro never believed his words in this kind of situation; since his mind was still focused on Zircon, he started to open the door.

“We’ll see about that,” he said quietly, and flew off towards the field. Doctor and Tawashi noticed this. “What is he doing? Astro, stop!” Tawashi took his mind off of Dr. O’shay and flew off to get Astro’s attention. “Leave him, Tawashi!” Doctor shouted; however, Tawashi didn’t listen. “Don’t go anywhere near her!” Astro stopped within about a couple yards from the field. “I don’t care if the field can get penetrated or not,” he said, and turned around showing a serious look on his face. “I promised Zircon I’d save her if she were in trouble!” This surprised Tawashi very quickly; though it didn’t do much to change his mind sooner until Dr. O’shay butted in.

“Just let him do this, Detective; he might know what he’s doing.” Tawashi was still feeling a bit annoyed, but he allowed Astro to continue without saying anything. Astro looked around the field and tried pointing out its weak points, and found a spot diagonally atop; though before he went on, he tried getting Zircon’s attention.

“Zircon! Can you hear me? Can you speak or move? Please tell me you’re okay in there!” Zircon didn’t move when Astro shouted; though, she could hear him. Her eyes were closed, and as if she were in another dream; Astro’s words kept repeating in her mind as she continuously runs into an abyss, trying to find a way of escaping; she kept running and shouting and tried responding the best as possible. Everything was dark and black as she finally reaches the bright white light at the end of the road. Her dream exits, and she had the energy to open her eyes; Astro’s voice sounded muffled but clear enough to know where he was shouting. *…Astro?* she thought; she slowly tried moving her body to face him, and then stared at him.

To Astro, he felt very alarmed; he noticed that her face was in so much terror through her bright blue eyes. “I’m here to help; I won’t give up on you!” All of his confidence came back after that glance. He started backing up and charging at the field’s weak point with great force; however, it seemed pretty strong when he scanned it earlier. The first attempt shocked him and made him bounce backward. Both Doctor and Tawashi saw the try. *Be careful,* Doctor thought worriedly.

It also amazed the reporters and made them add on. “We’ve gotten another report; it seems that Astro is trying to see if he can break through the field; however, his first attempt wasn’t well planned, but that’s not going to make him give up!” It amazed most viewers, including his friends and close citizens. Zircon was really surprised when she heard what Astro said from before, but at this rate, his charging isn’t enough to make a dent.

He kept trying to not worry about the field’s power while he charged, and had his rockets set to full blast. *Astro has helped me out this far,* she through. *Now it’s my turn…* She concentrated getting the jewel back under her control; its results showed very oddly; the field was slowly and then rapidly changing colors from the jewel itself. Astro tried breaking through far enough to lend a hand out to Zircon; it surprised Dr. O’shay and Tawashi on what was now happening.

“What’s Zircon doing?” Tawashi asked. Doctor already figured it out when Astro slowly tried to reach Zircon while it still tried to reject him out. *I see what’s going on…she’s weakening the field!* he thought. Astro was slowly getting through for all of what he has left; Zircon later on stretched out her arm slowly to reach his. The reporters’ cameramen kept recording the action and broadcasting it to the public viewers. *Just…a bit closer…Hang on, Zircon…* he thought.

Zircon finally grabbed his hand; since now that the field had weakened, Astro pushed himself through completely. Zircon stared at Astro still in terror, but he greatly comforted her. “Don’t worry,” he said smiling a bit, and then hugged her. “You’re safe; be glad that I didn’t break your promise.” Zircon was surprised by this, and then smiled behind his shoulder. *I’m glad you didn’t…thank you…*

The jewel completely lost of Zircon’s body and the field due to Astro’s interference of his source of energy. It started to collapse in as it weakened and then it spread out three times its original size; it greatly faded as if it were a white dwarf beginning the final form of its life.

Many viewers have cheered because of Astro’s excellent performance. Dr. O’shay just sighed of relief, and Zircon’s previous form had vanished; the device was also destroyed in the part. *Thank goodness,* he thought. *Though, we still have Tenma on our hands; I wonder what he’s planning now?* Tawashi was still concerned, but just shrugged and flew off.

Since Zircon’s energy was nearly wasted, she couldn’t get herself to stay airborne, so Astro had her held in his arms. “Astro…listen,” she tried speaking. “I’ve gotten more details on Dr. Tenma’s plan; he plans to have Nitro bring the city down with meteors by the next two days; right now, Dr. Tenma might’ve gotten me down at a point which I probably won’t be able to wake up till then.” Astro’s eyes widened. “He found out about us spreading it?” he asked, and sighed. “I still don’t get why he wants to do this; this city had enough peace until you came along…” Zircon agreed. “I know, but we’re going to fix that; everyone was fine without me before, though we have a role, right? It’s to protect humans; we can both stop this together.”

They both smiled. From Zircon’s direction, she spotted Nitro; he was taking a short gaze at them. Even Dr. O’shay saw this. *That must be Nitro,* he thought. “We may need to save him as well,” Zircon pointed out. Astro noticed Nitro before he flew off after gazing. “What do you mean?” he turned back asking. “He has kokoro when I scanned him earlier; he was programmed to only obey Dr. Tenma and also have his emotion locked in under seriousness or anger. I’ve seen the way he fights, too; I’m probably not able to defeat him, but I’m sure you can.” “Are there any weak points?” Zircon slowly nodded. “He has weaknesses of having lack of mobility in his arms and legs; if they get damaged or disabled, he’ll be defenseless, though we can still save him.”

Astro nodded, and then suddenly, Zircon felt a bit weaker. “I’m losing energy quickly…however; I have something to say before I can rest…” She paused for a brief moment and then looked at him with a very passive face. “Astro…I’ve been friends with you ever since we first met; and now I think…I like you more than that…” This amazed Astro quickly; a bit of redness appeared above his nose. This goes back to when he had blushed behind Zircon during the past week, and she probably didn’t even notice! She might have, though it was possible she had no other feelings such as that whatsoever; at that time, she was probably still learning more about her emotions.

Before he had the chance to say anything about it, Zircon laid a finger about an inch in front of his mouth while she slowly smiled. “Don’t let anyone know about this; just keep it secret between us…” Astro just smiled and nodded. “It’s safe with me; I’ll mind Dr. O’shay about Dr. Tenma’s plan.” Zircon smiled once again. “I’ll return…I really hope before it begins…” She drifted off; Astro then thought about her words as he flew back towards Doctor’s car. *More than just friends…* he thought. *So she did have some feelings towards me…* “How come you’re smiling?” Doctor asked as Astro entered the car. “It’s nothing,” he said while looking at her; he then changed the subject. “Zircon told me more details about Dr. Tenma’s plan; right now, I just hope she will wake up soon.” “Well then, tell me about on the way back to the Ministry; I’ll need to run a few tests on Zircon before she can rest at home.” Astro nodded as the car made its way there.
