It's short for "File Transfer Protocol". The way it works is I run a server program on my computer that allows people to connect to it. When someone connects, it sends a list of all the files and subdirectories in a certain directory on my harddrive. They can then click on any of those files and it'll send them. It's basically a bare-bones way of giving people access to all that stuff without me having to pay for webspace and all.

What I'd do is load a couple of the episodes into Virtualdub, and export the audio tracks as WAV files, then load those into Soundforge and cut some good clips out.
I was gonna post something about that to the media thread, but it'll be a few days till I'll be able to do it for ya and I think I remember you mentioning that you couldn't download big files easily. If you need them right away, maybe someone else here could do it.
You're welcome. Always glad to help out fellow Astro fans.

I've recorded a few "Hi this is Astro" and "So long" clips from the original episode previews in MP3 format.
astrovoiceclips.zip (149k)
I haven't been through any actual episode content. I can't remember where there are good clips.

I used to have a clip of the old B&W intro saved onto my computer (this was before we had an upgrade..). It was of pretty good quality, but now I can't seem to find it around anymore
I know this is very lazy of me...
but did anyone come across it while searching through anapan's ftp server? I'd love to get a download of it again - if only just to hear the cheerful triumphant singing of Japanese children (which i understand no words of...)!
:wahah:
Oh! And thank you DrFrag for the Astro voice recordings!! I'll be sure to listen to them once i get home since it's not very safe to play them during class at the moment....
