I've done some more work on the head, in an unexpected burst of enthusiasm.

That's the first 20 rows, out of 43 for the head. I ran out of black so I had to stop. Fortunately, black is easy to get hold of.

Now that's awesome. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Forgot to mention I haven't bought white lego, so the eyes are grey for now. This is pretty much a rough draft head anyway. I don't think the hair spikes are going to be nearly long enough. I did try lengthening them in the software model a bit, but I'm not good and fiddling with meshes. Fortunately they're in the right spot, so I can just add on Lego until they're the right size.

I was reading back through the thread and I found this:

I'll be rebuilding the head when I'm done. The ears and sideburns need some work, I need to give him a mouth, the hair spikes will need rebuilding, and the eyes need building in white and black (and maybe brown too).

I've ordered some more Lego so I should be able to continue in a couple of days.

US$932 + shipping, so far. :d oh: I was prepared for $1500 spread out over a few years, but that's still a lot.
