Hello,

just wondering if anybody knew what happened to the Robot Vikings on tape 5 of the Australian VHS release of the 80s Astroboy?

On the two copies of tape 5 that I have seen the episode has been replaced with "The Great Meltdown", though it says that Robot Vikings should be the third episode on the tape.

Was this fixed on later releases of tape 5 or is the episode on another tape?

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

On my tape 5, the third episode is The Robot Vikings but it's followed by the trailer for The Great Meltdown. I suppose this is the fixed version, but it's the only episode that contains a trailer at the end.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of this episode ? Are the videos still available to buy?

Myer/Grace Bros should have it. If you've got one of the faulty copies you should be able to get it replaced.

Haven't had any luck finding the tape with the episode. Anybody in Australia willing to share a copy? Lots of TV stuff to trade.

Siren Entertainment should be able to help you, otherwise send me an e-mail/pm.

I too have a copy of the "faulty" Vol 5 with the wrong episode. I remember YEARS ago emailing Siren Entertainment about this and never getting a reply. I just emailed them again a few minutes ago...and am expecting a similar result.

Anyway, I was under the impression that every episode of the Eglish-dubbed '80s version was included in the range of 17 volumes. Can anyone confirm this? Because I remember an episode where Astro and some others are stranded on a planet/moon (?) where a robot lives. There is oxgen to breathe, but only when the sun or heat melts it. In the end, one of the humans, a greedy man, gets left behind as the robot won't let him go, keeping him as a companion in place of his deceased master. Now, I haven't watched my tapes in a while, but I don't remember that episode being on any of them. If anyone knows what this ep is called, can you please let me know?

Cheers
Parrick

Yep. All 51 episodes are on them.
