Episode 14 tickled me to no end. It seems to be based more on Futurama's "Parasites Lost", than on the film "Fantastic Voyage", although it could be a coincidence. Nevertheless, on to the really amusing aspect: Atom's nanorobot has an Alfalfa hairstyle! :D ImageImage

Atom's nanorobot has an Alfalfa hairstyle!

Well I just have one question, how does a robot fix a cowlick like that  ?? I mean he can't lick his hand & run it over it like alfalfa tries to do. :P ;) Does he use Valvoline instead of Brylcream :wahah: :P
BTW, I haven't seen any of the new ep's yet but by nanorobot, do you mean a small version of astro?? What is it??

A nanorobot is not necessarily a very tiny version of a full-sized robot, but it is very tiny. 'Nano-' means 1/1,000,000,000. Just as a millimeter ir 1/1,000,000 of a meter, so a nanometer is 1/1,000,000,000 of a meter. Nanorobots are extremely tiny robots (although not necessarily of the classic human form robot) that could theoretically be used to perform surgery by attacking similar-sized invaders, whether virus, bacterium, or what ever.

In Atom's case, just as in Fry's (see futurama episode "Parasites Lost"), nanorobots are remote controlled miniature versions of the full-sized items. Thus, the person controls or becomes the miniature version, he sees, hears, and feels everything that the remote-controlled nanorobot does. When he moves his arm, the nanorobot moves its arm.

I will refrain from offering any spoilers here.

Can robot "hair" be changed? I thought it was always fixed into the same style...

The nanorobot Alfalfa was composed in a similar fashion to the way Star Trek transporters work:

That is Dr. Elefun's face in the background.

Why the nanorobot has a different hairstyle, I do not know, except that perhaps it is because it is cuter.

As mentioned earlier, Alfalfa's mission was surgical, as such, he had to enter the patient:

I hope this does not spoil it for anyone! :D
