I just downloaded the Astro Boy NES rom and i'm trying to figure out just what i'm doing. I noticed when I duck nd press alt, little japanese letters appear over his head. I can't read japanese so I have no idea what thy say. Also, I can't figure out how to fly. I've managed to do it a few times, but i'm not to sure what i'm doing and finnally, in the first level, I found an secret area with three henchmen. I beat them and come across a wall. On the other side of th wall, there is a coin. How do I get past this wall? All of tis would be greatly helpful Thank You.

Hey Dragonrider1227! Where did you get that download? I've been trying to get the NES version but I can't find it... ;^^

*slaps head* Of course! (Why didn't I check there? ;^^)
If you could wait about a month (2 months tops), I'll have something for you. Okay? I know that's a long time but I'm busy. Sorry.

Whoa... This game IS tough... (One hit kills???) I got a few "answers" for you Dragon:
Those letters that appear above Atom's head, which ones? When he is hitting people, my guess is "Pow", "Hit", "Smash", etc. When you press down and "A" (Is it the "A" button...?), you send a SOS to the Doctor to fix you (that option seems useless). The Doctor won't come after a few times of calling (the text on the bottom of the screen probably says "Sorry Atom. Can't come.").
I went to the "secret" room. I can't get the coin either but I did get a coin from the telephone booth getting there. Duck and punch the booth and a coin will jump out. If you punch the phone, I'm guessing it is nothing helpful (it probably says "Hello?").
I'm still trying to figure out what that "Uran" meter is. I haven't let it go down to zero yet but I notice that if you get fixed by the Doctor, that meter adds 200 (?) seconds...
I haven't been able to fly. Do you know somehow to?
I have a hunch that the player must grab many coins to pass this level... Think about it: some thieves come and steal money. What else are we to do than get the money from them? ...But the game does not count the coins collected. It goes to your points... wait! When I paused the game, it said "Coins" on the bottom of the screen! Maybe my hunch is correct! ^_^
I'll check some more out hopefully today or this saturday.
I'm going to try to make codes for this game (I never did for other games; it's my first time) to make this game easier, but don't hold your breath.

(Sorry for double posting.)
Nope. I have no idea how to play this game! You will need to know how to fly. You must fly over the pool of water on the far end of the level.
Coins are not an objective. I hacked to max out my coins and still, nothing happened.
Something strange does happen (but I do not know what triggers it, as I said, I don't think coins have anything to do about it). If you come back to the Lab, Doctor Elefun will be outside and you can talk to him. Just for fun, hit him. It's funny on what happens! ;;;^___^
Also, there's a hidden coin in one of those things that stick out of the ground (I think it's the second one on the left) right by the pool of water.

I found a copy of the actual game cartridge on E-Bay. I just had to remove the alignment tabs in the game counsel to get it to fit.

Lucky! I think Astro Boy games are rare. How much did you pay for it?

I bought so much on E-Bay that I don't remember. I bought it a couple of years ago.
