Does anybody know when or if they are going to make a movie? I heard rumors about 2 years ago but I haven't heard anything since.

I had just been wondering if anyone has any news about it. Fro my viewing of the raw Japanese series episodes, I would say that the series will probably end soon. I have seen 1 - 44. The tension between AI robots and humans is steadily building.

Lamp is leading the human protestors, while

Blue Knight leads the robots.

Uranium has become quite a groupie of the BK. In two different episodes, she and another robot girl are shown as simply adoring the hero of robots. Each girl has her own BK toys.

For you aussies, there was a really cute robotic Koala in one of the lastest eps.

For sci-fi time-travel buffs, ep 39 has the sibs going back to prehistoric times. :lol:

According to OPM (Offical Playstation Magazine) the movie is going to come out in 2006. Also, the magazine listed THIS website as a good source for Astro Boy info! It's in this month's issue so go and pick it up!

There was a "movie" trailer on Astroboy.jp, but it was actually a promotional clip for the new TV series. I haven't heard of anything going beyond pre-production for the movie, it's been tied up in legal rights issues for years.
Seems every time I hear about it, the release date's been pushed back another year! :cry:

Yeah thats the promo for the 2003 Atom series. If you can't read the Japanese at the beginning it even says the starting date is his birthday, 7th April 2003. It's interesting after watching a bunch of episodes how much of the promo is actually used in the show :lol:
