This is a question aimed at the australians on this board. I've been watching the new series on Cartoon Network (Oz) before it was aired on ABC... I suspected that they'd been skipping episodes because there had been a lack of continuity between eps. For example, (correct me if I get the name wrong) I saw Rino talking with Zoran...and then a few episodes later, Rino is introduced for the first time. What's up with that?!?! There was also the one with Pluto...which was 'to be continued' but was never concluded -_-'
Ever since I found this page I've been keeping track of it: http://astroboy.jp/c/009/story/kakuwa_01.html and just the other day noticed they played episode 4, then went straight to episode 6...then repeated episode 6 AGAIN the next day -_- ...and then moved onto episode 7...
I noticed a lot of other eps were out of order too. Anyway, does anyone know why CN is doing this? Are they deliberately showing them in the wrong order (which seems utterly stupid)...or are they missing episodes? At least the ABC's on track so far...
Thanks!

Peple think kids are stupid and won't notice. The same thing goes on in the US too. Not with Astro, but with other shows. I used to watch Sailor Moon on another channel before Cartoon Network picked it up and they played it completly out of order.
I'm sure it is the same everywhere. We have this kind of mess in Europe too.
In fact, I have NEVER, I repeat for the ones who have not noticed it
But fortunately, I was a kid, so I didn't noticed

Same situation here in Canada with the YTV channel...
When I was young all the series that I could watch on our public tv channel (Radio-Canada) was always in the right order. This channel was the only one I know which respect that. No surprise that it's a PUBLIC channel (I mean, a channel own by the government and paid by taxes).

AFA the 80's Astroboy concerns, I think a correct episode-order is only necessary for the first 3 eps at the beginning, for the eps where Uran starts showin up and for all eps which
Atlas is featuring in. By all other eps it doesn't seem to matter on which order they follow.
At least that's the way I see it

There was only one continuity error in the 80s dub episode ordering.
At the end of The Great Meltdown (episode 23, originally 29), Atlas is frozen in the glacier. But at the start of The Runaway Subway Train (episode 16, originally 33), Livian thaws Atlas out from the glacier.
Everything else worked out fine. Astro was born, got his boots, went to school, got his parents, got his sister, etc. Atlas "dies" in the last episode he appears in.
