Just wondering to those who dabble in writing Astro fics, how do you see the cat haired wonder?
I like to write him as a sort of brat to the bad guys, a one liner throwing needle pusher to people like Gumshoe. He gives Atlas ( I use the boy Atlas, never the grown one) fits. Some things humans do can frustrate him.
He loves jokes.
He loves ice cream.
He collects "Mighty Space Miner" comics.
his favorite trick against unsuspecting baddies is to act all cute, get close, then bite the barrels off their guns.
I use some of the 2003 Astro but most of the 1984 series characters.

I write Astro-Boy as the kindda hero who will do anything for the city and his friends. In one my fan fics, known as 'Doomsday', an controlled Atlas was about to waste Metro City, and Astro blocked the attack, totally damaging himself also beyond repair.

I would write Astro in much the same way he was written in the 60's b/w episodes, a sweet, innocent little boy

but when the going gets tough, well, he is not afraid to get it on with the bad guys.
In short, he would be a nice, cool kid B) , but if you push his buttons too far, then no more Mr. Nice Guy.

I do have an Astro Boy fan fic up, however, it's about Atlas, not about Astro. Astro has a really minor role in the story, but I tried to portray him as I saw in the 2004 version.
*looks at CrazyEyes* You got a story with Atlas in it too? Is it posted anywhere? I'd love to read it!

I love writing Astro and the younger Atlas going at each other's throats.
1. Astro chases Atlas through a Ginza and stops him by throwing a bungee cord lasso around his legs tied to an anchor he drops into a fountain.
2. Atlas is with Skunk trying to rob a bank and he sees Astro fooling around with a fridge in the bank's lunch room. Atlas walks over snarling mad and ends up being caught as he's trying to figure out if the light in the freezer stays on when the door is closed.
3. Astro is tied to a table with a bomb strapped to his insides and Atlas comes back to save him all the while they're both complaining about the others quirks.
atlas: I should let it blow up! Would serve you right Goodie Two Shoes!"
astro: Then why don't you?
atlas: because you make things strangely interesting around here.
astro: You do like me.
atlas: about as much as a sewer plant.
