One thing great about the Tezuka mangas was the small hillarious gimics that happened to his characters.

So what could possibly happen to Astro in the midst of his heroic idium? How about one minute he's running down a street chasing some goon and the next he's running in circles, barking like a dog because he came across some kid's R/C car transmitter : )

"BARK BARK....I have to get Doctor Elifun.....BARK....to fix this problem! BARK!"

Yeah. One of my favorite things about that manga is how it can be so dramatic and so funny at the same time.
