Recently I had a mixed emotional reaction to my first ever visit to BORDERS. Sure its positively huge (I hear the one I visited is one of the smaller ones in Melbourne) and all that, but it seems to me that the prices were horrid, and all the books Ipicked up seemed second hand. Now i know the "point" of boarders is to pick out a book, go buy a poofterchinolatte (with Malt) and a sticky bun, and then read the book for a while to see if you wish to buy it. Somehow I can not picture anyone in their right mind paying full RRP for a second hand book just cos you got to "try before you buy".
Anyway, one of the main reasons I wanted to go is I was told they had a good Manga section. Now granted it was fairly adequate, but the prices were heart-attack material! I did not walk out with a single thing in the end. It was all just way too shoddy and expensive.
So now I need to find another way of getting the AstroBoy Manga. Where do my fellow Aussies on this board do their astroboy shopping? I fully intend on getting them all.. I just do not know where to do so now. Online shopping is fine. I prefer it to driving the 3 hours to melbourne, anyway. I will drive to melbourne tho if there stores are worth the trip.

If you are looking for astroboy books, you could go to any bookstore and ask if they will order them in for you. Most of them will, you just need a title and knowing the supplier would probably help, but you could find that out from a book at Boarders. It might cost more than normal if they have to order them in, but atleast they won't be covered in sticky bun.

Ive looked at their web site I couldn't find them. Are you talking about the original comics or the new bandai action figures of astroboy?
Here in the USA, I bought most of my collection (all 23) from Amazon.com or someone selling via Amazon.com. I suppose there is an Austrailian version. Anyway, I often found that buying 3 at a time from Amazon itself was cheaper than buying from individual sellers despite lower item costs, because no shipping charges for orders over $25 with Amazon. I know there are some specialty manga/anime web sellers, but still find their prices + shipping charges higher.
While not the same thing, the comics 1-20 are selling on eBay
2 volumes of Japanese language manga on eBay
