I recently watched the 80's episode 'The Crystal Of The Desert' once again, one of my favourite with Atlas featuring in, and there's one particular scene in it which immediately reminded me on a moving song:

Image
Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need.

Is this the world we created
What did we do it for
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today
The world that we created.

You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by.

Is this the world we created, we made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated, right to the bone
If there's a God up in the sky looking down
What must He think of what we've done
To the world that He created.

B) I guess you all know that song.
Its content is as topical as ever, and with the image of Astro holding this doe in his arms, it rams us in our hearts even more  .

Maybe this topic is a bit far-fetched, but I stayed away long enough from this forum.
So why not to post a new topic for a start.

Good to see you again Louis'74 ;)
I have never heard of that song, where does it come from? It sure is sad, but it's too much true

And by the way, you wouldn't happen to have "the Crystal of the Desert" on digital support? I can't find it anywhere :(

I really liked that episode, the little boy tossed up by the spring was quite cute. However, the message though not quite so clear, because it was Atlas who had caused the problem, was that we ought to consider our proposed project's affect on the environment. While I am not a Liberal, I do indeed believe that some things are too important to be politicized as left or right. Avoid the extremes (in most cases), and walk the middle road, or some such thing.

I got this episode on a VHS-tape by Siren Entertainment. What I can do is convert it into an mpg-videofile and load it on anapan's ftp. The quality of the sound will not going to be as good as it is on tape, but the voices will come out audible I think.

About the song: it was written by Queen, somwhere in 1983 before their LiveAid-
concert. One of my favourite songs of 'em.

I was just asking if it was on digital format, don't digitalize it just for me if it bothers you ;)
Anyway, it appears that madman is going to publish a DVD version of the 80s somewhere around next december. The discussion should be there somewhere...

I found back the link:
http://www.astroboy-online.com/forums/inde...t=538&hl=madman
But you probably already know about it since you appear in it ;) ( and seem even quite happy :P )

No bother for me to help out a fellow Astroboy-fan :) .
This ep should be uploaded on anapan's ftp by tomorrow evening.
filename: 'astro.boy.09.the crystal of the desert.mpg

Ah yeah, the big smiley  . Well, I must say, I first believe it when I'm holding that stuff in my hands <_< . Same counts for the Astro Boy 40th Anniversary Ultimate Fan Guide, on which we're waiting for quite a year yet.
Don't play with our patience any longer, distributor-dudes!

Wow, what a service! I will come back :P
I hope Anapan's FTP server is up, it was recently down because of technical problems (see the discussion)

I don't think Astro leans in any direction lib or Con, nice thing about Tezuka is that he was able to express the common basic themes of values and beliefs in his characters that everyone could agree with.

DOUBLE LIFE....
It takes a fast car lady

to lead a double life

it takes a slow star lady

if you want to do it twice

you take your backseat rumble

take your frontseat wife

it takes a fast car lady

to lead a double life

it takes a light foot lady

to lead a double life

it takes a good book maybe

if you want to do it nice

when you idle at the stop light

you better get the signal right

light foot lady, you lead a double life

lift me from the wondermaze

alienation is the craze

and it's all gonna happen to you

and you think it's a phase

and it's all gonna happen to you

when you drive in a haze

it takes a freeway lady

to lead a double life

it takes some leeway lady

if you want to do it twice

neon blinking on the street

everyone is bittersweet

freeway lady, you lead a double life

CANDY-O

Here is another irrelevant response from Cybotro. Hey, Cybotron, what inspired you to post these lyrics in this thread? ;)
