80's ASTRO BOY ON DVD in Australia?

Does anyone know when I will be able to get my grubby little hands on all the official DVD's of the original 80's Colour Astro Boy series (which is by far the best IMHO!

Any info would be great? Will there be a box set etc? Will it be this year!? I've been hanging out for this for ages!

I thought I heard something here about the show coming to North America on DVD.

If you go to http://www.madman.com.au you will find a "comming soon" astro picture under the "RETRO" line of Anime, also the new Astro DVDs arent done by Madman Entertainment. With fingers crossed Madman will give us a dual language release as with most of their other DVDs.

The Astroboy Collection is another retro collection. It is the 1980s Astroboy series, though Tim indicated they would be interested in getting the 1960s version if this one sells well. To be confirmed but 95% sure was that the collection will come in an embossed aluminium tin containing thinpacks, with 10 DVDs of the show, 1 DVD containing extras and a booklet. If released it would retail for around $199-250 SRP and be limited to a run of 10,000. Individual discs would also be available at around $20 each.

To be released November 2004. DVD costs:
Deluxe Edition - $199.95
Individual Volumes - $19.95

Deluxe Edition is in the tin box, artwork for the box should be on Madman's site in about a week

The DVDs will NOT be bilingual. There is no way that can be done because of the cuts to the footage and it's an older series.... it's either English or Japanese but not both. I expect there will be some Japanese stuff on the Extras DVD but for sure the episodes will be in English.

So has that price for the deluxe set been confirmed? Thats good cause more than $200 was a lot. Now all I need is a definite release date.
