your favorite astroboy episode

I think the best of all the astroboy episodes has to be mystery of amless dam(1960's), this had to be the best of all the episodes, tezuka, could have easily made this into a full length feature, it had alot of messages, that alot of people now in this day and age should pay attention to.

My favorite Astroboy episode is "Atlas forever". In this episode Atlas rejects at last the Dark Side

I agree that it has an important message. However, the ones I liked best (of the 36 available in English) are Astroboy goes to school & Astroboy's wonderful Xmas, they were simply the funniest and cutest.

For anyone who insists upon clarity, we are talking about the 60s anime.

As for the 80s, my favorite one is Uran & Uran. I must make clear that I am not talking about the English dubbed and edited Uran's twin, which lacks the schoolyard dance argument scene, that I loved so much.

The 2003 series, is a bit tougher, because the episodes have not all been shown, & the titles may be different depending upon one's source. However, I thought the space camp adventure was quite amusing, becuase of Atom's reaction to the teenage girl: palpitations of his heart. Poor little guy lost control over his searchlights, and ran off attempting to hide his embarrassment.

My favorite episodes are from the 2003 version. "Atlas" and "Astro vs Atlas" because my favorite Astro Boy character, Atlas, is in them!

Since I have watched only the 2003 version of astroboy, my favorite episode from the series is Episode 49:Journey into Tomorrow If you happen to watch it, (japanese version with decent subtitles) it will surely move you into tears. This episode, I believe, is the "kokoro" of the whole series because in this episode is where Astro tells his true message to everybody but unfortunately, the episode will end tragically. I won't tell what happened because there might be some in here who have not yet watched the episode

Well, I used to watch the 80's series but i can't remember a fav episode. Guess i'll have to wait till the dvds come out. In the new series, I liked the Boon episode where astro lost his memory. It's not my fav, ( currently havn't really really liked an episode from the 2003's yet) but it reminded me of the 80's astro's personality. He was much more child like again.

Concerning the 60's series I'm not old enough to have seen them, I've only been able to watch what's been posted on the FTP server as well as what cybotron put up (ie the bazillon giant snails one). I consider a favorite one I'd watch multiple times without getting bored, and of the handful I've seen so far I'd have to say that Ep #1 Birth of Astroboy is my favorite of the 60s.

With the 80's series, I remember watching that series when I was 6 or 7 years old. I can't really remember back then if I had a favorite or not, but re-watching the episodes off the FTP I think that I liked Baby Elephant Pook back then.. what are you looking at me like that for, I was 6! :wacko: Another one I thought was funny back back then and think is still funny is The Robot Vikings. Finally one I think was kinda funny today (didn't get it back when I was 6), probably Lily From Peligro Island. Ok, treestump on head, visually amusing. The way his jets were burning out on the way home the first night I find funny too. (flying, down. UP, flying, down... UP, down.) Funniest scene of the ep to me today was when Queen of Peligro was reaally appreciative of Astro killing the monster. It really does look like she wanted to take astro back to her hut. :wacko: Meanwhile Astro has the "eww cooties" look until he was finally excused by the dawning sun. "Uh, no, gotta go home now bye!"

Favorite of the new series? Not sure. There are scenes I like to watch repeatedly... like say the Boon Unit episode when he hauls that huge ship out of the ground. "Kid, lift with your legs!" For an overall favorite ep I'd probably have to give it to the Denkou ep, particularly the Jap w/ engligh subs version that cybotron put up. Very nice.

and the way he shows shyness by looking down, it is so cute
