i was wondering if atlas actually survives the epic battle with the aliens in the "atlas forever" episode, which is on dvd no.9 episdode 42 i think. cause in the rest of the episodes there is no mention of him..poor fella shame for him to die
While it seems sad for him to die just after seeing the light, and choosing to help rather than harm, his fate was shared by his love, Livian. Livian loved him so much that she chose death at his side, rather than life without him.
Moreover, Lt. whatshischops from "Astro fights Aliens" after he had given the hero a nearly empty energy cassette, confessed his sin, and went the way of the divine wind, crashing his aircraft into the alien's ship, and dying.
It seems to be a trend to kill the guy in such situations. But not in the film, "The Battle of the Buldge." Here, the young and green Lt. played by James Mac Arthur (Danno on Hawaii five oh), after wetting his pants and surrendering, getting himself and his Sgt. involved in the massacre at Malmady, himself being the only guy to escape, redeems himself at the fuel depot. Having learned the real cost of taking the easy way out, he takes a stand. Seeing Col. Hestler driving up the road in the lead of 15 King Tigers, rather than run, he tells Telly Savalis, "Lookout, the MPs are krauts!" Thus after redeming himself, he saves the day & lives rather than dying in self-sacrifice.
Too bad I cannot find an uncut version of that film.

Charles Bronson's best scene was cut, as were several others.
