I'm still discovering new episodes as they are broadcasted here. I just realized that the episodes I find the most interesting are those in which Tenma is involved. I just like the mystery he brings (even if I already know the ending), his dark side, his madness... If it wasn't for him, I don't think I'd find anything interesting in this version. He's definitely the most intricate character and I really like it. :)

While I was watching Outer Spaceport R45 again yesterday, it just hit me that the only crazy reaction from Boynton is when Matthew's father tells his son about Boynton's disappointment after realizing that Astro wasn't going to grow... Something that is happening in the manga but wouldn't fit anywhere in that series, otherwise why would he have wanted to bring Astro to the US? While it's strange that we got no explanation for Astro's red eyes in the non Japanese version of the first episode, at least it wasn't originally planned that way, while somebody deliberately decided to include a different story in the Spaceport episode. Oh well, I know it's not news to any of you! ;) But it could have been great to see a bit more of Boynton anyway. Elefun was too perfect; give me a bad-tempered character anytime! :)

And what would be Star Wars without Darth Vader and the Evil Emperor ? ;) Darth Vader is particularly appreciated by Star Wars fans (including myself) :D By the way, this is not a fortuitous comparison, as Tenma in the 2000 serie exhibates very often Sith-like philosophy.
Anyway, regardless of the fact that Tenma is in charge of the bad guy role, many episodes where he appears are key episodes, making them more interesting.

Hmm, I've never been able to watch a full Star Wars movie :p h34r: . But I ended up studying it in school, believe it or not. It's definitely a deep story. Well-defined and interesting characters are the key to any good story! :)

You studied it in school? I barely believe it :D The movies are quite simplistic, but are the base for interesting reflections anyway ;)

I had a teacher who used Star Wars to teach us the psychodynamic theory (think Freud). He also used part of an Asterix movie at one point. And this was a serious course! It's not like we spent a lot of time on that, but he used them as examples. It must have worked, because I still remember a lot of what he said! :D
