I just won this cel on EBay:

Anyone know what episode it's from? I plan to print an appropriate background image and have it framed. I'd scan through my AVIs for it but I haven't finished encoding them from DVD.

(It might not be from the 80s series. Although he has the 80s-style lines on his joints and chest, it might be from a recent Tezuka special which has seen a few cels turn up on EBay recently)

It seems rather lacking in detail. That foreground image could be used for more than one scene. In the 60s series, I have seen scenes of crowds rushing around. There would be the exact same people, say 6 or 7 different characters, who compose the entire crowd. When watching the DVD, slow motion makes this very clear.

It's also that way in the 80s series in every single crowd scene. I recall watching twice the same crowd in two distinct moments in the same episode!

It appears to be more modern in design than the 80's. His body is tall like in the current Astro series, not chibi enough for the 80's. Also look at his skin, it has reflections, especially his left cheek. I think they only had shading in the 80's, but not much reflection. And check out his boots, way to big for the 80's series.

In my opinion, it's probably from the new series, or that tv special, or evan from the Tezuka Museum movie about the Blue Knight story. It's deffenately not from the 80's.
