Huh? Just as I had finally decided to order the Madman Entertainment set, like 24 hours ago?
Is it April Fools' Day or what?!
So this means it's going to be available in the US and with the Japanese/English audio in November? For $59.98 US instead of $199.95 AUD?
And how are they going to put both the English and Japanese audio with all the cuts?
I do want the bonus DVD from Madman and I know they put a lot of effort to get the best possible quality, but is it worth the 125$ CAN? I love Astro but that's a lot for me! However, it would be cool to get the English subtitles, but that is IF they are close to the Japanese version.
Now what do I do...
Can I cancel my order from Madman since it's still not on my credit card account? Should I? Do I want to do it? I finally managed to find a way to make sure I'd be able to read a PAL/region 4 DVD, so in 48 hours I went from zero opportunity to get a DVD set to 2 and now I don't even know what I want anymore... This is hard to believe!
And why did I come here to read just before going to bed?
I've always wanted to dream of Astro at night, but this is not the kind of dream I wanted! Given the time difference, I really feel like I have to make a decision RIGHT NOW! Argh!
I can hear all of you laughing at me as you read this message... Be honest!
I might as well laugh about it too...
I can't believe it!

Sorry, "Guest" was me.
I missed the Japanese audio bit when I read it the first time. Yay for dual audio!
Hopefully they'll be including the episode trailers like they did for their VHS release. But another whole set to buy ...
I've e-mail Jay Rath and Manga and suggested they include some of Jay's material he saved from the voice acting. What I'm hoping for most is the "making of" documentary to appear as an extra feature.
Edit: 1337th post! :wahah:

I can't wait til I get my lucky 777.
Anyway, on topic: I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this release since I already bought the MadMan Tin Box and also some original japanese DVDs.
They'll have to feature REALLY interesting extra material to catch my curiosity, like the french dub for instance, but I personally don't think that will come true.

:wahah: Awesome!, now I'll have the best of both worlds on one dvd set, the Japanese with subs and the English dubs. It'll take up less shelf space than the 2 box Japanese set and the Ausie tin box set, not to mention the vhs tapes.
But where to put the old sets and the tapes, hmm?
Aww, who cares, this is the best thing I've heard all weekend.

Just some thoughts:
If there's an option for subs that means there's a possibility for unedited Astroboy. The confusing thing is though if they use English that means they would have to be using the old edited footage unless of course they're giving us two versions which wouldn't make sense because that would take up a lot of room. Of course there's also the possibility that Manga is going to do their own original dubbing for the show so it can be seen in its entirity.
If they use Japanese subs on the original English version that also wouldn't make too much sense.
Edit -- Just realised they said the entire 52 episodes. Yet another good indication we have unchanged Astroboy coming as they never showed all 52 episodes on TV back in the 80s.
