Hi there, I just purchased the box set of the new Astroy boy and I was watching through it and it seems that the eps are mixed up a bit. For example I believe it was the 3 or 4th story in called "Astro vs Atlas" You see Astro heading off to school, which is fined but then later on in eps 6 or 7 you see astro heading to school for the first time and being introduce to his classmate and made some friends which they show you in eps 3 or 4. Then eps 10 his sister just shows up no intorduction on how she became his sister or what not. I was just carious if everyone here who seen it or own it if that make sense or did they boxed up the set incorrectly.
Hi, welcome to the forum. The order of the episodes isn't the only thing wrong with the box set. It's also been edited for comercials and other things, so they could show it on Saturday mornings, evan though this is a dvd. <_< lame. Also they sometimes changed the dialog to where it was a totaly different story from the original Japanese version. Then they changed the music, the original Japanese soundtrack is better. Add insult to injury, it's been cropped instead of the original widescreen. Also the Japanese episode 20 called Eternal Boy, which retells the story of Peter Pan, is skipped so they wont have to pay royalties, cause Disney owns the rights to Peter Pan and is subtituted by a lame flashback episode where Tenma and Shadow watch Astro's antics to see if he's ready for the ultimate fight. <_< again, lame.
It has it's good points too. At least Astro was finally released on dvd in America. And if your tired of reading subs and just want to enjoy the beautiful anime artwork that is Tezuka, then by all means buy this set.
The Korean box sets are the best. They come unedited, in the original Japanese with English subs, the original soundtrack and in widescreen. Unfortunately episode 20 is missing again for the same reasons it was skipped on the American release.
There is a Chinese bootleg availible, 'least I think it's a bootleg, since it was recorded off satelite tv. It's also in the original Japanese with English subs. Only problem with it is it looks washed out compared to the legal copies and it's not widescreen either, and the subs are sometimes not that well translated. But at least it's complete and uncut and includes the forbiden Eternal Boy.
I have all 3 versions.

I'll post links to the other versions if you want them.
