Hey all,

I just finished downloading Marine Express. It's a movie by Osamu Tezuka staring most of his well-known characters including Astroboy. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I wanted to let everyone know it's on my FTP now. It's Japanese, with English subtitles. There's also a few other movies and films by Tezuka there that nobody's downloaded from me yet (I haven't watched most of them yet myself, but maybe they're good?). I think they're mostly dubbed in French, or in the original Japanese, but the short ones have no talking anyway.

Well, here's the address:

I have seen the raw J version. I thought it was weird, though. Atom plays the part of Adam, a robot created by Ochanomizu. Rock is his human brother, Higeoyaji is comic relief, 3-eyed one (little boy in centepede ep 2003) is the villian. Sapphire shows her backside a few times. Skunk, Don Dracula, & a whole bunch of others are there. I have a ton of pics from this film. I must see the subtitled version!

It's funny that you mention it, because I was thinking I should really try to watch a few of other Tezuka's movies/cartoons like 2 days ago...

Thank you very much for your server! :)

But what is a .ogm file?

Getright is my favorite download manager, tho there are a bunch of others that work just as well. The FTP only allows 4 logins from the same computer, so if you are using segmented downloads, set it to 4 or less. Also if you use an FTP client instead of your browser, most of them will allow you to resume a download.

That's right, Unico is only based on a Tezuka manga. It was created by Sanrio, the company which owns the Hello Kitty franchise. The rest of the videos there were made by Tezuka Co.

OGM is an open source video format, it allows you to turn subtitles on or off, aswell as having multiple audio streams (for switching which language you listen to on files which have more than one). Basically it's just an enhancement of the AVI format to support videos with multiple languages.

Here's a guide for playing them:

You can just run this file and load them into windows media player (or any other video player you prefer):
http://www.vorbis.com/files/1.0/tobias/OggDS0995.exe

You might have to choose "all files (*.*)" in the open file dialogue.

Whoa! That was nothing like I expected. It starts out kinda like a long episode of Astroboy (except almost all the characters act kinda different from how they normally would - skunk's got superhuman ninja moves that are beaten by the detective's judo throws), but after that it all goes way weird! It's an awesome movie, but be warned, Adam is not Astroboy. I guess in that respect I should've put this in OT.

Definitely a recommended download.

I just watched The Last Great Event of the 20th Century. All of Tezuka's characters come together for a big party at the end of the century. I hope that one gets fansubbed.
