School Elections

The candidates are Shibugaki vs. Kenichi and Melmo Vs. little Cathy (yes, the same Cathy that saved Atom from Hamegg). The stakes are class president and the role of Snow White.

While Shibugaki went on to nearly lose his life on the coaster, sore-loser Little Cathy wrecked the school play. I will post a few pics soon.

Wow, it is nearly identical! :wacko: What's that Melmo anime though? I had never heard of it before you posted a screenshot of it (at least I think it was) in the Photoshop thread.


Mrs. Gordon taps the principal's desk almost the same way!

Marvelous Melmo is another of Tezuka's creations. The series taught sex education, but nothing about the mechanics, only the chemestry.

The story in a nutshell:

Melmo's father has been dead for some time, then her mother also dies. In Heaven, mama pleads with the tribunal to let her return because her children have no living parents. Although the trio denies her request, they give special 'candies' to Melmo, with which she transforms her body into an infant or adult, but retains her child's mind. By combining the two types of candy, she can even turn into various animals. In fact, her brother Totoo turns into a frog, but cannot eat the candy to return to human form (I am unsure why). So he stays a frog for several episodes, & only returns to a human under very weird circumstances.

So, anyway, Melmo uses her transformations to aid her in caring for herself & her 2 younger brothers. Now she tries to play not only her own role as elder sister, but also the role of mama. Only in the very last episode does she (over the passing og time) mature, just as she uses the very last of the candy.

There were some really funny adventures in this series. I wish they would release an English subtitled version.

The tribunal consists of a guy who wants to help Melmo, another who does not (he thinks she abuses the candy), and a third guy whose only interest is solving a puzzle involving two intertwined loops (the object is to separate them). :wahah:
