New Astroboy DVD?

Postby sdp » 19 years ago

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000FGG5NA/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/104-3264362-7845552?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance

So probably about 6 episodes, but from which one? seems kind of random.

Found out more information:

http://www.animatedbliss.com/DVD/details.asp?title=Astro+Boy:+Greatest+Astro+Adventures
Its the 80s series no extras apparently and 7 episodes,

Episodes
- Birth of Astro
- Robio and Robiette
- Liar Robot
- Greatest Robot in the World Part 1
- Uran's Twin
- The Robots Nobody Wanted
- Astro's First Love

Pretty good deal for the price, might even get some others to buy the box set but since I already have the boxset looks like i won't buy it, too bad if it was the Original Astroboy I would have bought it since i just don't have the money to spend over 100$ for a show I never watched.

Thanks for the info.

I wonder why they chose those episodes. The Right Stuf says they're "Key Character Introduction" episodes, which is hardly the case.

Indeed...

No Atlas episode at all, and only part 1 of the Greatest Robot in the World?

I noticed this last week while browsing TRSI

I cannot understand why they consider these particularly great.

Because it will grant them a small additional revenue?

The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

But they could have had at least the same revenue with both Greatest Robot episodes, The Birth of Astroboy, Uran's Twin, The Robot Vikings and Atlas Forever. :p

Key Character Introductions? Why then "Uran's Twin" rather than "Uran The Tomboy?"

They should do another DVD (or two) just of the Atlas episodes.

While they are at it, shouldn't a key character introduction include the full first two Japanese episodes with the birth of Atlas, at last??? :d oh:

Seriously, we've seen a lot of people on this forum that would probably buy this DVD only for those two, but of course, it probably didn't cross their minds!

Edit: ("their minds" referred to Manga's people, of course)

With those episodes, some characters are "introduced", and after such an introduction, I guess most people will want to see the episodes where those characters are really introduced. Great revenue on sight for them
... I mean ... for Manga
