I'm not sure if this is a cover or not, but it might be because it sounded very familiar the first time I heard it. But overall, it reminded me of our lovable robot, Astro. Obviously Astro was never "lost" at any period of time, like the song suggests, but he does have people he loves and friends he cares about. And I believe it is through these people that he gains his strength, and this is what the song it about.
