I'm sure most/everyone here knows about this
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375568/
If ya don't, basically some studeo has the rights to make an astroboy movie but it's one of those properties that just keeps getting passed from here to there and hasn't made any progress. (I think the last "planned" release date was in 05) Currently its in the hands of the guy who did samuri jack and he's written a new script but who really knows if thats going to lead to something solid.
So if all of a sudden you were put in charge of it, and could make the movie happen what would you do?
If it was just going to be one movie I'd do the whole astro tenma story, with the action between astro and pluto.
If it was going to be a franchise like all the comic movies now are trying to be. 1st movie astro v atlas 2nd movie astro v pluto 3rd astro v blue knight. Giving each rival robot their own story while slowly telling the tenma story through each movie.

(sigh) Actually, I'm writing a book that I hope to get published and in the story features Astro but it doesn't really go by the manga comic. At first I was studing how to write movie scripts and this story was going to be written in script form but something happen(it's personal). If I made my movie(which is my dream) I do know it will make me famous or at least known. But that's in the future. I'm a little nervus about Genndy's movie of Astro.

I heard that the reason it was held back was because of the movie AI.

I loved Samuri Jack too bad it was on a kids network or they would of made more episodes.

I'd like to see a filmed-CGI mix like next year's
Transformers movie. Something with Tenma creating Astro and a fight with Atlas. Then the greatest robot in the word for a sequal.

If I had to make it live action/CG I would probably give it to Robert Rodriguez. He's proved he can make popular kids movies with Spy Kids & Shark Boy & Lava Girl or whatever, and he's proved he can be VERY faithful to original comics with Sin City. He's also got lots of experience with Live action/CG (neither of which Genedy Tartakovsky has ever even really worked with)
That being said, If I really had my way, I'd probably have it animated by Tezuka Co, but more faithful to Tezuka's comics & the other shows.
