Is the general plot the same as the 1980 Time Machine? Because there are so many "Time Machine" episodes in that series that it's hard to tell them apart when you've never seen them! :D

No, neither Blackjack, Pinoko, nor Sapphire appear here. It is set mostly in a prehistoric dinosaur-era. Its most similar color ep, is the 2003 Time Hunter. Except that here, in 1960s Boon is the Time Hunter. Rock is here, as Boon's son, out to stop him from taking creatures from the past.

There are a few similarities between the 2003 plot and this one. BTW, there is a 1960s Time Hunter, which put simply, is a repeat rather than a remake of this episode. :astro:
