what happend at the end of the last epp in the 2003 version?

i know Astro realises that Tenma is his real creator but waht happens after that?

Haven't watched this in almost two years, but I'll give it a try... Somebody else will probably add more details, if not corrections.

Tenma retreats into a part of the ministry of science and says he wants to speak to "Tobio" (Astro). Now my memory is fuzzy, I don't remember what they say to each others, but Tenma says he is going to destroy that part - with him inside. Astro wants to save him but Tenma, using some device, shoots him so Astro won't be able to reach him. Astro reaches him anyway and, to Tenma's amazement, opens his arms. Tenma starts crying in Astro's arms, then O'Shay and the robots policemen join them, the place is going to be destroyed and they all get out of there.

Tenma is either jailed or confined to a psychiatric hospital and the declaration for the freedom of robots becomes official.
