Funniest captions
Although some images are no longer present, I would like to ask members to review the Caption the picture game, & nominate images with captions for a best caption of all award.
Just post quotes of the nominated captions with images here. Perhaps it makes sense to select the best ones you have posted.

Great idea, jeffbert!
The problem is that since we've switched forum, the search engine seems to have a lot of problems. I can't seem to find the captions I found funny, the thread is so huge now!
Wow, somehow after just a few minutes, I found the first caption I was looking for. Unfortunately, the image has disappeared, and it wasn't from the series so I can't post it myself. It was an image of the operation game like this one, but obviously with Astroboy on it:

For those who don't know the game, the goal is to take out small metallic pieces out of the patient's body with small pliers without touching the edges (also metallic) of the body (I believe it produces a sound if you do).
Here was dannavy85's caption:

Link to jeffbert's bigger version, thanks a lot jeffbert for providing this one!
That was the best caption of the whole thread IMO. Congratulations again, dannavy!

Dear project members,
Due to budget cuts we have been forced to downscale the training of new technicians for repairing Astro. I think this method is more accurate.

Dear Doctor,
Saw your new training idea. Uh uh uh not for me!....taking Jump, hooking up with Reno and joining the Robot Circus. If you want to find me you can contact Davy Hansen and his dog Golliath.

Even though I think Loüßëãr stopped posting on the forum on a regular basis around the time I arrived myself, I've come across many of her posts and I miss her too.
Jeffbert and I must have some psychic link, because somehow I woke up this morning with this caption in mind. The picture is no longer there but since I can, I'll post it here:

Another one from Loüßëãr, but it's not funny without the picture. However I do not have Marine Express on my computer anymore and I don't know on which CD or DVD it's now, but you were the one who posted that picture jeffbert, so you can probably do something.
The post is here.
I don't have time to search right now, but I also remember Strange Wings' caption about Astro being lost in the desert because Elefun's GPS system didn't work. In the same round, I think DrFrag (?) had "photoshopped" the picture so Astro would get the awful Windows blue screen.
The picture was of Astro looking at his built in screen in the desert, from "The Robots Nobody Wanted" IIRC.
As for quotes by myself, I remember posting maybe a dozen in one round. The picture was posted by DrFrag. It was something he had done in the Photoshop game (from a picture submitted by jeffbert): a baby watching Astroboy on TV, Astroboy having been replaced by Tenma screaming through the TV.
Edited: Here is the post in which DrFrag had posted the picture for which I found a lot of captions... Do you still have it somewhere, DrFrag?
I'll search for the desert one later.

I have it on my HD, gimme a while & I will upload it to my Comcast server.
BTW, I have viewed more than a few captions whose images are absent, but easily identified. I can upload them also, if needed.
Here is one of mine, but by no means my favorite, I just put it here to keep track of it.
"jeffbert" wrote:
"oh, what will I do? I need to give this boy artificial respiration, but Dr. Frag insists that I have no breath."
This next one was a winner. I will upload the pic soon.
"jeffbert" wrote:
"You look like you're about to wet your pants, Tamao. We robots never have urgency about expelling used radioactive compounds."
Another winner:
"jeffbert" wrote:
"I can hop on one foot. I can fly with only one jet. Uranu-chan is naughty. In a previous life, I had twin machine guns in my bottom. In a life previous to that, I didn't have lasers in my fingers, but I do now. I can hold my breath indefinitely. I have 100,000 Horse power, whatever than means. 'Tawashi' means 'scrub brush'. Don't you think that's funny? I have kokoro. 'Kokoro' is Japanese for 'heart'." [Continues babbling endlessly]
Episilon thinking: "Where did Tenma put his 'off' switch? If I don't find it soon, I'll summon a typhoon, a tsunami, a whirlpool, or anything else just to shut him up.'![]()
Here is another winner about somebody who just will not stop talking:
"jeffbert" wrote:
"...If you pledge at the $50 level, we'll send you these two awesome Robio collectables not available in any store, but only through pledges to our fine station. [telephones ringing in the background] Oh, I think we have a few callers now, wait--yes Fred from Tulsa has just pledged at the $50 level. Fred obviously has impeccable taste in both television programming and Robio collectibles. In just a few more minutes, we'll return to our program, but you still have time to call in & support the fine programming on this public supported station. You know, we rely on your support for over 80% of our budget. Only a small fraction comes from corporate sponsors, and even less from government grants. So please call now. These Robio collectibles are in limited quantities, & will not last long-- oh, my associates have just informed me that another pledge for $50 has just come in. It seems that Trudy of Fairbanks has the same impeccable taste as Frank from-- oh, that was Fred from Tulsa [continues ad nausium]"

I think the one where Epsilon is being subjected to Atom's incessant babbling was probably the best.

But, no trace of either the image or caption is found on the thread. No reference to 'castrol' either. I guess the hacker might have killed it.

Yep, here it is.

I've replaced it in the original thread. Let me know if there are others you want updated. I've changed ISPs a few times over the years so a lot of my pictures are broken, but I have copies of them all.

I do not even remember ever seeing this image, I mean not in that thread. I may be wrong though."jeffbert" wrote:hmy: I seem to recall an image of Pluto squeezing Atom, who is redfaced with pain. My caption was something like "Its no good Pluto, I'm still constipated. I'll just have to get mom to give a a spoonful of CASTROL."

Thanks, DrFrag!
