Thanks! :D If they keep putting these sequences there, I may end up buying the series, who knows.

I must say it: how many of those hits were from people who watched the whole episode? It could be, that many just viewed the 1st few minutes, before finding something else. Old-timers such as some of us :D were likely more inclined to watch the whole thing, but young people, are so easily bored. Hence, the 2003 Atomu lacked the embarassing machine guns in the bottom, and his cuteness was decreased. Humor gave way to drama or action, all the more so, in the E-version.

Much of the humor is similar to the old Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, Disney, etc. Cute things that are aside from the plot, such as the dancing fish in the '63 version of Sea serpent Island are typical of this. The guy whose head followed the movement of the meters in e #1, is another example. :hyo:

Nevertheless, there are middle-aged guys such as we are, but there are whippersnappers, too. Who can say whether 60s Astroboy appeals to young adults? Yet, there must have been a reason for changing the 2003 version, & while I do not know that reason is among them, I suspect it is.

Do you remember Late night Black & white? I loved that show; those old cartoons' style of humor is the same as the '60s Astroboy. The same is true, but to a lesser extent for the Chuck Jones show, Toonheads, & I think they made one about Tex Avery, too. All were among my favorite shows, but how long did they last? Still, CN must have had justification for airing the 60s Astroboy. :D

I'll never get my $5's worth of an argument from you. But, being a glutton for punishment as I am, I must ask you to explain your reasons for holding that position. 'money' just does not cut it. I stated several reasons why I think the 60s series will be short-lived on Adult Swim. Do you take issue with any of my reasons, & if so, which ones & why?

The numbers crunch. I think The cookies generated by the broadband flash players will excite the advertisers. I saw 2 sprite commercials while I watched Astroboy online at adult swim. I think the numbers are solid and that they mean Astroboy has been discovered by the anime audience at adult swim. The hit count is twice that as for Aqua teen. But all we have to do is wait and see if the numbers increase by word of mouth. I think the numbers will increase in cyberspace....

ps
Jeffbert they would have watched at least to the part where Astro shares his power.... The infamous power sharing scene is now famous on all the internet

A similar scene occurs in 090 Robot Fortress (E: 081 Mystery of Amless Dam), which, BTW, also features Peewee, the little robot who in 001, takes it in the tail.

I would be very surprised if the initial popularity lasts. I think many viewers were more curious about the show than they were actually interested by it. But, only time will tell. ;)
