superhumans?

I've been wondering after seeing some Astroboy episodes, why haven't the creators thought of putting in some anti-robot supersoldier.

For example, some rebellious robot (i.e Blue Knight) goes on a "crusade". Apparently, those anti-robot groups have managed to create some genetic superhuman with say: super strength to tear through robots, enchanced endurance to stand up to the robot attacks, and faster brain to fight with unearthly skills. Then as you would've guessed, it is up to Astro to stop the fight before alot of things get destroyed in the brawl.

Also, I think this would fit some what well with those anti-robot groups in the Astroboy universe, as they may want to prove the sheer power of the human body and mind.

Do you think this is a good idea for an episode?

More than an enchanced superhuman... How about a normal human with great abilities, like Blade runner? I find it much more "tezukian".

In fact, in "The Gas Giant" manga there was a human professional killer hired to finish Astro, and he managed to tear one of Astro's arms off!

While not made for the purpose of putting robots in their place, there was a1960s episode that had three humans endowed with super powers. I do not remember if it was in the English-language version, though. :D

In 81 Mystery of the Amless Dam (ELV), 90 Robot Fortress, The (JLV), either Kutter or Notaarin (I still cannot tell them apart) creates an army of remote-controlled 'robot' soldiers to battle against the real robots.

In the comic version of Blue Knight, Hamegg uses a robot (the White Knight) to battle the BK. :astro:

Yeah that would be cool, that reminds me of one of my characters in my stroy.

Blade runner is a cool movie.8)
